About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Cabin #9 -" Flag-up "

"Flag-up" is a warm, cozy, vintage rustic cabin reminiscent of simpler times and tastefully furnished with a Vintage Ice Fishing theme.

Our cabins are a cross between a rustic sporting cabin from the "road-side motel era" and a simple vintage boutique get-away. Our family-owned camp aims to provide the best elements of country lodging with updates while still maintaining that rustic cabin charm.

The "Flag up", is a one room cabin that sleeps 2 on a full size bed. The vintage desk is perfect for writing, playing a leisurely game of solitaire or relaxing with a cup of coffee while enjoying a view of the Cadillac countryside. The mini kitchen comes complete with a bar-size sink, microwave, counter high refrigerator, hot-pot and vintage electric percolator. Also included is Wi-fi, Roku Smart TV with Netflix, a vintage game or two, perhaps some reading material, a deck of cards and a cribbage board.

The weather-beaten walls of our 70-year-old cabins are crammed with memories that induce an atmosphere of northern Michigan nostalgia. Come, relax and trade the pressures of the fast modern world for a few nights of simple, up-north hospitality.

Our family hopes you enjoy our cabins as much as we have enjoyed getting them ready for you!

This is a dander free cabin - NO PETS ALLOWED - for Pet Friendly Cabins please see Cabin #5 & #10

Upfront & Honest

* Cabins are small, cozy and a bit crowded
* Old, restored windows and doors can be drafty, especially the floors which result in uneven heat.
* We're in a rural area and the Internet isn't perfect but is very reliable, it may just need an extra few seconds to load Netflix.
* Located on a busy street and near an excavating company so can be noisy at times
* Water heater is small so short showers are a must
* We are in the country next to fields and an excavating company, so there may be dust and a cobweb or two, our site people check daily but one strong gust of wind or Charlotte (the spider) may decide to spin a web...

Cleaning & Disinfecting: We at Mackinaw Timbers have always taken cleaning very seriously. Our normal routine is to wash all bedding, including comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, and rugs at every turn. Cozy and peaceful Michigan retreat!
These cabins are tiny and adorable, and finished so nicely, leaving as much history intact as possible. Everything i could need for a few days' stay was included, tucked into nooks or hooks and making great use of the cozy space. the heater worked instantly, making the room perfectly toasty when the nights got chilly. The water heater gave ACTUAL steamy showers (something so rare in rentals) One thing i particularly loved were the little individual coffee pour over pods- such a handy thing and gave me a perfect cup every day. loved the orginal latch hardware windows, when the weather was warm i would prop open a window and let the breeze flutter the curtains. Definitely staying here again. the only possible thing i would have to say that isn't positive- if you like cotton sheets, bring your own. the bedding was a slippery polyester that left me sweaty, and i wound up borrowing cotton sheets for most of my stay. Mattress was comfy, though! great place with great communication from host
