Nice modern building.Rooms are very big and have washing machine and dryer.The place is a little bit away from central surfers. Swimming pool access is located through the Foyer and kids track the water from pool to elevators making the floors so slippy. Mostly a family hotel, not a quiet retreat for those looking for a relaxing and peaceful time.

Only a few issues with the Hotel. The reception is up one level and it’s a hassle to take suitcases up and down all the time even though you have a suitcase elevator it’s a bit of a drama.Swimming pool is a shocker!!! It’s a glass pool all passers by and diners can watch you swim from underneath,like a fish in an aquarium,who wants to do that? It’s a shame as in hot weather you want to take a dip,but not in a glass bowl viewed by the passers by. Architect must have been on something strong when he designed this place!! Other than that the staff are great!!! And the hotel rooms are awesome .The Italian restaurant goes out their way to spoil you while you dine .

Exremely disappointing uncomfortable stay. The worst room I’ve ever stayed in. The room looked like it hadn't seen the light of day in years. It stank of mould but the worst was yet to come with the lighting. When we complained to reception we were told that all rooms had the same lighting and were given stick on bulbs to attach which didn't work either. I was shocked. The supposed eco-friendly room was so dark I had to use the light off my phone to do any and everthing. Absolutely appalling. I encourage manangement and staff to stay a night in Room 701 to see if they like it. Reception staff were grumpy, unfriendly and very unhelpful. Definitely nothing 5 star about this hotel. Never stay here again. I am actually scared to book another Crystalbrook resort. Do not recommend unless you are looking to stay in a cave and bring your own lighting. Disgraceful.

The design of the building and interior and views are beautiful but they were so short staffed no one ever picked up the phone when calling front desk or housekeeping. And seemed to be only 2 front desk staff helping the entire hotel doing everything. When you needed something you had to do it yourself or walk down and stand in line to receive service. They need to hire more staff to fulfill their star rating in my opinion. I saw an older woman struggling with her luggage down stairs on check out and absolutely no one there to lend a hand in the front of the hotel where many bellmen carts were.

BEWARE when booking rooms - you may not get what you pay for.... Sea View Suites are not what the photos show, and you may end up looking at ugly building and side view of an ugly marina. We splurged for a Sea View Suite and got this terrible treatment and room - being told to "lean over the balcony to see the sea." Beware of scams.

Got an accessible room with a view of a huge AC unit. Had to go all the way back to change the room. There is small open lift for wheel chair access at lobby level to take you to front desk as there are quite a few steps. That is great but annoying to use every time you come in and go. There is no help to take the luggage to your room. The room was quite small and inconvenient design. The shower glass door was ineffective and flooded the entire bathroom. In the name of ecotourism- they had these really dirty black tea cups and two super flexible hangers in the room. Had to ask for more! The eco friendliness was a joke - There were a million lights on entire day entire hotel and corridors had ac blasting all day. The breakfast was a mayhem and chaotic. Truck loads of Chinese tourists fighting for the items. Nothing tasted good. No tropical fruits at the buffet - just watermelon and cantaloupe. Very few vegetarian choices. No eggs to order or choice of coffee. The location was great - walking distance to shops, restaurants and night market. We could get car rental from nearby Enterprise and walk to Cairns station for train to Kuranda. Overall, book this hotel only for the location. Don’t worry about breakfast inclusive rate. There are a thousand choices right outside - more authentic, healthier and value for money. Avoid if you have mobility access issues.
