"There are lots of great things about this property. The location in terms of proximity to the beach and the pub, ease of parking, the garden for dogs. The interior is really nicely decorated and feels both homely/cosy and spacious. The kitchen was generally well-equipped. The bed in the main bedroom with the ensuite was comfortable, the others were okay. Everything was clean. Previous reviews mentioned a hole in the garden fence for potential escape artist dogs but we didn't have any problems with ours. Cons: Some of the fixtures/fittings need updating and just seemed a bit out of date. The TV downstairs didn't work at all. The living room TV was okay but was also quite old. it didn't hugely affect our trip because we were mostly there for the beach but it was annoying in the evenings when it kept freezing/disconnecting. The hot water was an issue for two days in a row - basically no hot water in any of the showers (even the electric ones). I did message VRBO who were generally helpful but it was the weekend. They offered to send someone round about the TV but we were only there for a long weekend and didn't want to waste an afternoon waiting inside so we just got on with it. I'd probably stay again if the issues above were sorted out as the rest of the stay was really great! "

"My family enjoyed Sandy Bottom with all the facilities provided by the host. The house is very charming - comfortable and perfect for a family gathering. There are lots of books to read, games to play, music to listen to from the jukebox and a pool table for the men to enjoy."

"Having stayed in many places locally this is a great location but numerous issues ruined our stay. Arrival is anything but welcoming with the heating left off and taking in excess of 16 hours to get up to 17 degrees. A log burner is provided but single match we were left blew out on it's way into the stove! The stay was tortuous with a fridge which beeped solidly for the 5 days we were there, largely in unison with a fire alarm whose batteries were running out (unreachable for us). The bathroom door doesn't close or lock either (possibly due to the changes in temperature) so you're forced to listen to others on the toilet, not the most enjoyable experience. Basic items such as a kitchen sponge and scissors are also not provided which is a shame. All in all, great location but for the reasons above I would not recommend this as a relaxing stay at the beach, there are many other properties which have more to offer in the way of basic comfort."
