This place could be really fabulous but it is looking a bit tired. The bed was particularly uncomfortable and the duvet just about covered it. Furnishings were dark and a bit shabby. Bathroom is nicely fitted out but water pressure very temperamental.
We did receive a warm welcome and the cooked breakfast was good but not much choice. We didn’t eat dinner there but bar was busy with diners.
The room was reasonably spacious, the bed / mattress was not the best and the TV in the room was extremely small.
Breakfast and service was excellent 👍
Clean & comfortable small room in an annexe to a lovely country pub with excellent food and service. Very convenient for IWM Duxford (5 min drive) and 15-20 mins for Cambridge park & ride or city centre.
Stayed prior to a Spitfire flight out of Duxford next morning. Great atmosphere, especially the pseudo Pilot Officers rooms which leant themselves to the occasion. Staff we absolutely super and Uber friendly and helpful. Excellent food !
The pub itself was great, the food and service was good. Neither of us slept a single moment. The room has a bright green light shining all night and our room has the boiler fixed to the outside wall behind bedhead. Honestly sounded like a jumbo jet the whole time, initially i thought there has been an explosion, it was so loud. They are aware and still sell the room.
Spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed it. Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Real coffee in a pot. Has a good bus service to and from cambridge so no worries about trying to find somewhere to park. Hope to return soon.
Lovely relaxing two night stay with excellent food
We were lucky enough to catch a cancellation to stay for a couple of nights at this lovely village pub with four letting rooms just a stumbling distance from the bar! So close to Duxford IWM and so peaceful and quaint. The welcome could not have been friendlier. The pub was busy with regulars and visitors alike and the food was so good my husband said it was probably the best steak meal he'd ever had - and he's been around a while! (Can't remember what it was called, but it was strips of fillet steak on a green salad). Have tried to recreate it, but looks like we'll just have to go back again!
Lovely old atmospheric pub. The welcome and food was excellent. Sausage at breakfast was particularly nice. Room was in an annex to the rear opposite the outside bar space but not an issue with noise etc.
Very convenient for Duxford .
We had not stayed there since before the pandemic, nevertheless we were recognised and made welcome.
A nice clean room was provided and a spacious bathroom. A delicious freshly cooked breakfast was provided in the morning. Small wonder that we return there, not just to stay, but also to meet up with friends for dinner.
