Situated in a tiny hamlet, Silvio is a beautiful stone Tuscan Farmhouse, built in 1899 and recently converted into a wonderful holiday home, with its own covered loggia for dining al fresco, pool for cooling off, and good quality hot tub too!
This cottage has been lovingly restored into a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa, offered for rental on an 'Adults only' basis. The property retains its original charms with traditional stonework, cotto floors, chestnut windows, and is finished in warm Tuscan colours.
There are two large double bedrooms, one of which is interlinked with a single, and two tasteful shower rooms, one of which is en-suite.
The comfortable and spacious open plan living/diner has comfortable lounge seating, dining for 8 and double doors in each area leading outside and to the beautiful, covered loggia ideal for eating and relaxing al fresco with a view of the mountains in the distance.
The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to cook for those evenings when you prefer not to venture out and enjoy the local restaurants.
The gardens of the villa include the covered loggia area, BBQ, along with a decked pool area for cooling off during the day and ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine in the hot tub when the sun goes down.

A little about the area
Conveniently situated in a tiny hamlet on the outskirts of the small mountain village of Filicaia, approx 1 hour North Of Lucca. The Garfagnana area is perfect for relaxing or walking along the many footpaths.
You can walk down to the small village of Filicaia where there are 2 bars, one of which serves pizza at weekends, a small food shop, a bank and a post office.
The local cuisine can be enjoyed at reasonable prices in the numerous restaurants of the area.
The house is well located for exploring the local market town of Catselnuovo which is under a 10 minute drive, the gorgeous and popular mediaeval town of Barga which is a 25 minute drive and the stunning walled mediaeval city of Lucca which is say 1 hour away. Pisa, with its leaning tower is a 1 hr 15 minute drive, and one can visit Florence in 2 hours. The famous Wind Caves are a 40 minute drive as is the local adventure park where one can try river canyoning!
Closer to home there are plenty of little historic villages to visit, many of which have local festas in the summer. There are also the lakes of Gramalazzo, Vagli (with its hidden village submerged by the water) and Pontecosi, and some guests love to swim in the river. The property is also ideally located for visiting the local ancient Fortress at Verrucole which is a good afternoon out, with stunning views and a real sense of history, and there is a little restaurant in the tiny village to relax and unwind too.
Also close by is the Buffardello tree climbing and zip wire park, which has runs suitable for the most adventurous of adults, where one can take a picnic and spend the entire day in the welcome shade of the forest. If you like adventure then there are adventure parks offering E biking, river canyoning, jumping down waterfalls, paddleboarding and there are extensive opportunities for mountain hiking.
The real beauty of this area is the dramatic mountain scenery, and the hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, endless picnicking opportunities, and the unique relaxation of a non-touristy holiday ......
