Palo Duro Canyon At Last Cabin

This destination offers the view of a lifetime only a short drive from the second-largest canyon in the United States. A quirky older cabin has been updated so it’s a glamping experience with a breathtaking view
The bathroom is tiny and with a standard shower.
Hike early and return to At Last cabin to spend the hottest part of the summer day in air conditioning, with internet and Netflix, and then enjoy an evening of stargazing away from city lights

NOT kid friendly. This property sits on the edge of a canyon cliff. It is beautiful, but not safe for children if they wander off or are not closely supervised.

This destination offers the view of a lifetime only a short drive from the second-largest canyon in the United States.
When the wind blows it feels like an intense wind tunnel. It blows large heavy things off the porch so there are cushions and tables that can be set up outdoors for evening enjoyment
The mattresses are luxury models
There is no stove; only a microwave, crock pot, coffee maker, and toaster oven.

The bathroom is small with limited counter space with a standard shower. There is an outdoor grill ( a green egg) with charcoal and an electric starter.

Enjoy the panoramic view of Palo Duro Canyon all across the horizon.
Be sure and save an evening for stargazing away from the city lights.
This is a remote location and the internet can go out during storms. AT&T is the only mobile service that works inside the cabin. Most other services work nearby but not at this exact location.

Check out the destinations in nearby Canyon, Texas. Panhandle Plains Museum is one of Texas’ largest museums and there are great restaurants and a quaint shopping town square with a farmer’s market on Sat mornings during the summer.
There are brochures at the cabins that cover all the activities in the area. Text me if you have questions.
Allow some extra time to experience the zip line between the Palo Duro Canyon entrance and the last cabin in the private gated community.
The owner is nearby for any needed entertainment suggestions.

Guests may drive in on the road and stay in the cabin. No access to Palo Duro Canyon directly from the cabin. For hiking guests will need to drive five minutes to the Palo Duro State Park.

The owner and assistant are available to help with issues or questions by phone or text message.

Amazing!

We loved our stay - unprecidented views of the canyon. We even saw the rare Barbary sheep from the deck, and the herd of longhorns of all ages on the road to the house. The house is great, and the merchantile down the road is great to drop in for a quick bite or for things you may have forgot. Loved it and plan to come back!

Cabin at the Canyon

We had an incredible stay and a very relaxing time. Wish we could have stayed longer. The scenery is one that will not be forgotten. The only area of improvement would be communication. We never received check- in instructions after booking. I sent several messages on VRBO to host. 2 days later and day of check in I texted the listed number. Reached out to VRBO. Then finally called which should have done first. Not hearing anything until check in and having to reach out so much was a little frustrating. Overall we loved it and wont forget our time there.

Views-amazing 3 beds but only used 1. It was plush, perfect for me. Too soft for hubby but he likes extra firm. He didn’t go check out any of the other bed options. Temp: Host had it cranked down. There are 2 mini-splits and they handle the Texas heat just fine. I had to turn them up (very unusual). 2 restrooms but only 1 shower. Worked for 2 people, but others need to plan accordingly. Kitchen: we didn’t use it but appeared well equipped. Safety: in a gated and friendly community. Railings prevent falling into the canyon and are not easily climbable by most youngsters. But, don’t leave little ones unattended here. There are other ways to access the canyon. Railings do impede the view is sitting but there is a high top table/chairs option provided. Location: easy access to the canyon park and Canyon TX and not far from Amarillo. Park also has a grill serving hamburgers, hot dogs etc, from frozen. They also have supplies and souvenirs. Since they are in the park you’ll have to pay park entrance fees to access it or shows at the amphitheater. Communication: Host provided self access info in a timely manner. Note: initial access to home is ground floor. Internet worked well. There are TVs but we didn’t turn them on. Host has provided games as well. Would be a great location for a full family. 2 bedrooms and 1 loft. Loft has 2nd toilet. Shower with toilet is on ground floor.

Gorgeous

We only stayed two nights, but it was amazing! The view is worth it all! There’s a bench swing that’s not pictured and is beautiful! The patio is where I spent most of our time here. At night the stars are incredible. There are games there and we enjoyed Pictionary since it rained a little. It’s a short drive to a little grocery/restaurant and short drive to the canyon. You won’t regret staying bere
