The Coyote Cabin at Palo Duro

The Coyote is a small cabin, approximately 12’ x 12’ on the inside, with a covered front porch and an extended side deck with a view east towards Palo Duro Canyon.

Designed for just two guests, it offers more open space inside than our other tiny cabin, the Roadrunner. It is furnished with a queen bed, table and chairs, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, sink, microwave, coffeemaker, and an outdoor area with gas grill (we provide the propane). There is a Roku TV. It has a window A/C unit and a panel wall heater.

---------------
Please note: This is one of multiple vacation rentals on our property. While there are other cabins on the property, each rental is separate with no shared spaces.

The little cabin gave us a perfect setting to see the sunrise. It was also a short trip to the Palo Duro Canyon.

Coyote cabin
We were very satisfied. We saw birds we had never seen, Longhorns and other wildlife. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the moonrise and hearing owls with coffee in the mornings. It was fun spending 2 nights in the small cabin. The only problem we had was the A/C failed and the managers addressed it very promptly. Our only issue was lack of a mirror at the sink and the one in the bathroom was not needed.

Tiny cabin
The cabin is tiny. No sink in bathroom. Husband had to shave in the mini sink next to the microwave using a hand mirror. No room on the floor to open suitcase. Room was clean and decorated cute. Queen bed was comfortable.

Great little cabin
We enjoyed our stay in the coyote cabin. It was just enough space and had a lovely view of sunrise each morning. It is incredibly close to Palo Duro park and served as the perfect base camp for several long days of hiking. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect location for Palo Duro
The Coyote TINY cabin was definitely TINY but perfect for us two who were gone all day to the parks. Cabin was clean and cozy. Had everything you needed with exception of hair dryer, at least I never found one, but that’s okay. So close to entrance of Palo Duro and next to Sad Monkey, perfect place to go afterwards for a drink or light bite.

The Coyote tiny house was very close to the Park and a short drive to Canyon where we found some excellent restaurants. It suited our needs and was very comfortable. We would recommend it to couples who want to be near the park.

Amazing Location and Amenities
Loved how close to Palo Duro Canyon this was. I was pleasantly surprised that the cabin was a part of a little village of cabins, rooms, and RVs. It was really neat. The cabin itself was clean and have everything we needed. It was so peaceful and quiet in the hang out spots outside. We were glad we didn't stay in a cabin inside the canyon, because we heard they are not as clean, and also you cannot leave after 10pm. We were able to drive to Canyon (the town) as needed. Great stay, super affordable, highly recommend! Look up Shepard Family Cabin Rentals to see all the options in the "village".

This cabin was so nice - not big but big enough for two people. It is surrounded by trees so shady/cool. And it overlooks the prairie of the Palo Duro Canyon. Also right next to our cabin (and fenced off) were several long-horn steers out grazing. So neat to see. Would definitely stay here again. The hosts were very communicative too.
