"This hotel seemed to be mostly well kept. They did not have AC which was a bit of a downside. The staff at the desk does not often speak English, although the manager/owner does, so be prepared to use your Spanish! Getting Uber is convenient and easy to do from the hotel. I had a shuttle that left to my next destination at 2:00pm on check out day, but the hotel did not allow for late checkouts. They were willing to keep my luggage though while I waited. They allowed me to wait at the property....

"A little work to get there - might need 4-wheel drive, but so worth it. After being in 2 different locations around Costa Rica, when we settled in here my wife commented that she could finally "vacation". This place is SO zen! "Posting said English and Spanish spoken but the person I dealt with spoke no English. We did ok though. She was a very hard worker and kept the place spotless top to bottom, not just the room. Almost every appliance you could think of was available for your use. Mercado was two blocks down on the same side of the street. Couple of places to get something to eat on the way there. It’s in the heart of downtown San Jose."
