If you’re a younger motorist, home providers will likely charge an additional daily fee and limit the types of cars you can rent. The surcharge, and which ages it applies to, differs between outlets. If you don’t have a license issued in the United States, you may be required to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country before renting a car. If you find that an IDP is required, be aware that you’ll also have to show your current valid driver’s license and your passport or other forms of identification.
