"We stopped off at the Wheatsheaf after a very long day of driving. We were cutting it fine to get there in time for dinner but I phoned ahead and let them know we were coming. We arrived 5 minutes before last food order but we were made to feel really welcome and weren’t rushed at all. We had an excellent dinner before we even checked in! The staff were friendly and welcoming. I adjourned to the cosy bar area after dinner for a drink while reading my book. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and these days it feels like a bonus that it’s included in the room rate. We had intended to go up Whernside before heading home to Scotland but the weather was appalling so we’ll just have to come back!"

"As pub stays go this was very good, comfortable room, nice bar and very good breakfast. Easy to park in local public car park, ticked all the boxes for me. "

"This property is 400 years old, it's very old fashioned. We had a 3 night stay at the Copper Kettle and we absolutely loved it! The room was very comfortable, although a little frayed here & there. Shower was great, breakfast each morning was great. We also took advantage of the 3 course meal one evening (available to guests only) & for the money was great value. Above all that, the proprietors were wonderfully welcoming & friendly. They let us park our motorcycle in the outbuilding for safety. We would definitely come back again!"
