Charming 3BR Cottage in Carolina Beach

"Salt Air Cottage" is a charming little cottage only a few blocks from downtown Carolina Beach and the Boardwalk. It is filled with nautical décor to enjoy your stay at the beach! After a fun filled day on the beach enjoy the quiet neighborhood setting with all the comforts of home. As you enter the heart of Carolina Beach just at the end of Harper Avenue, you will find the Celtic Creamery with delicious treats!
The kitchen, dining area, and living room host an open floor plan that is perfect for your family to be together for meal preps in the fully equipped kitchen (it even has a Keurig!) or just sitting around watching TV, but the young adults may want to check out the bunk room that features a large flat screen for gaming only. The main bedroom has two Full beds, a large walk in closet and private bathroom. The additional bedroom has a Full bed and the bunk bedroom has a pyramid bed - a Twin bed over a Full bed plus a Twin trundle underneath. Both these additional bedrooms share the hall bathroom.
The backyard features a charcoal grill and picnic table for afternoon cookouts; and the fenced in backyard is a nice plus for your four-legged family member. You'll also find boogie boards and a beach wagon to haul your stuff. The owner provides shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the bathrooms, and a puppy bed and bowls! Finally, they also provide HBO Max, Roku TV and Netflix. Who could ask for more?
While vacationing in Carolina Beach, be sure to check out the Boardwalk area, where you will find shops, restaurants and the summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music. Watch the fishermen come in with the catch of the day at the marina or dine out with the family. Or travel a few miles south to the Ft. Fisher Historic Museum, the Civil War battleground and the NC Aquarium. Make plans for the family on Sunday night for the outdoor movie by the lake. From Mexican to Seafood to American, you have so many choices like El Cazador, Havana’s, or Pop’s Diner! A vacation in "Salt Air Cottage" will give you a lifetime of memories.

Great property with a great location
The house was great, the neighbors were very friendly, and the trip turned out wonderful. The location of the house was really convenient to everything and took you out of the hectic boardwalk area when you wanted some quiet time. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was our second time staying at Salt Air Cottage and again it did not disappoint. It was just the right size for our group. The air conditioning did go out late one evening but the property manager had someone out the next day and resolved the issue. Will definitely look at staying again.

Four generations celebrating our patriarch’s 80th birthday.
The Salt Air Cottage was perfect for our two night stay to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday and fishing trip at Carolina Beach. The open floor plan and layout was exactly what we needed. We loved this charming craftsman style cottage, all the personal touches, nautical whimsey and artistic elements throughout the home. Because my dad has neuropathy and uses a cane and a walker, we needed a one-level rental or something with an elevator, or minimal steps or stairs. Salt Air Cottage certainly met our needs - one-level with one slight step into the home which enabled my dad to navigate throughout the home with relative ease. While Salt Air Cottage was about as perfect as could be, a handicap accessible shower would have made his experience 100% perfect, which is the only reason I give Salt Air Cottage an overall score of four stars. Otherwise, we truly loved our short stay at Salt Air Cottage and would definitely reserve again. Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with four generations of my family.

I was able to rent this fabulous house within a few weeks of our plans to stay there. The house was beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen. We were able to walk most everywhere! The neighborhood was friendly and safe...quiet in the evenings. Furniture comfortable. Definitely would tent here again.

Great house but not good for pets.
The house itself was very nice and clean. We chose this rental because pets were allowed. The pictures of the backyard made it look much larger than it was. We ultimately could not use the backyard at all because the neighbors had two obnoxious dogs that would bark constantly at my dog, which made her very upset. The dogs were often off-leash in the front yard as well. Also, the refrigerator had a leaking water filter which we did not notice until all of our food was soaked the next morning. I also found the check-in and check-out times unreasonable. We booked the rental for a 3 day weekend which felt cut short since we could not check-in until 4 pm on Friday and had to check-out by 10 am on Sunday. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area was awesome and spacious. I also really enjoyed the decorations. It felt like a true beach house. Everything was incredibly clean and the bathrooms were spotless and large.

Great spot for the beach Jeepers that have dogs
Just far enough from the rowdy crowd at the beach to walk the dogs and get some ice cream. Spent the rest of the time at Fort Fisher on the beach with the Jeep. Enjoyed the grill. For your benefit I will say that the floor in the house was filthy. Feet were black from the grime and sand and grit was everywhere. Easy enough to clean up though. Rugs need to be cleaned. We put them out of the way to not walk on them.

The property was spotless and the location is good. There were a couple of items missing in the kitchen: toaster oven or toaster, no pot holders, or baking dishes. The grill is in very bad shape and is un-usable. Due to the coronavirus, we cut our stay by a week and decided to head back home. Would highly recommend the rental. Thank you. Betty and Garth Gallagher, Gambler our Greyhound too.
