Sharbot Lake Waterfront Loft

Beautiful year round 2 bedroom waterfront loft cabin available for rent. Featuring modern, rustic charm located in the quaint village of Sharbot lake. The cottage offers 220 feet of water front and is surrounded by trees with a private sand beach, outdoor fire pit, a play structure for the kids and is host to abundant fishing. The master bedroom loft over looks the open concept main floor, the cottage is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. A floor to ceiling electric fireplace stands grand in the living room. Sharbot Lake is located 120km west of Ottawa and 70km north of Kingston, the cottage is walking distance to the village and offers all the basic amenities. We rent Friday-Friday with a minimum of one week booking.

Good potential
Kids had a good time although not the most kid-friendly property (see previous reviews). A couple of hours before check-in, the owner contacted me to apologize for the dishwasher being broken (they had just found out). We were okay with that and asked the owner how to use the TV. No response for 5 days (asked a 2nd time and never got a response). Cottage looks neat and clean but has sticky surfaces and dirty drawers. A low-flush toilet is not a great choice with low water pressure. We ran out of propane for the BBQ on our last night after only having used it three times and the two other tanks were empty. Again, apologies and the owner mentions that no one told them it was near empty. I think that's the main problem with this property. Relying on renters to let the owners know what's wrong is not okay for what they charge per night. The cottage has beautiful views in a good location and a nice play structure.

Enjoyed our stay
Tranquil, despite being located on the main road. Great location, steps away from town. Nice dock, especially if you bring your own canoe/kayak. Just a few quirks, which didn’t take away from the overall positive experience, but that future guests should be aware of: 1. The stair access to the loft is very steep and awkward. No children or seniors should use the loft. 2. There is no indoor dining table. If the weather is nice, the patio table is great. But in the rain, you’re limited to counter stools or coffee table.

Great cottage
This cottage is located right in the village of Sharbot Lake but is very private. Great size lot. Awesome fishing. Cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Doesn’t really feel like a cottage. Boat launch is just down the road. Stores are close by. Owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our stay as well as once we arrived. Wifi was an added bonus. Over all, great place to vacation. We will definitely stay here again.
