The natural stone house belongs to a small complex with only twelve natural stone houses / apartments in Kalathas on the Akrotiri peninsula, at a gorge (nature reserve) above the sea. Chania, the former capital of Crete, is considered the most beautiful city on the island and is only 10 km away. Ryanair describes them as follows:
Chania (pronounced "Hania") is certainly the prettiest port city in Greece. Swallows soar into the bright blue sky above the semicircle of large Venetian houses that surround the postcard-beautiful Old Port. The tables of countless bars and restaurants line the quay. Behind the harbor, narrow, traffic-calmed shopping streets wind through the picturesque old town. A coast of sandy beaches nestles on both sides of the city.
It blooms all year round in Crete: oranges, lemons, oleanders, jasmine, bougainville, roses, and the wildflower bloom in spring is particularly beautiful. You can swim in the sea from the beginning of April to at least mid-November at the latest. A special kind of experience is the Greek Easter, which can deviate up to 5 weeks from the German Easter. Many, very beautiful hikes and excursions can be undertaken all year round, an absolute highlight is the Samaria Gorge, the largest gorge in Europe. In addition, attractive cities and many archaeological sites, e.g. B. Knossos.
