"The Pousada Brasil is a 6-7 minute walk to the main town square, and the owner/manager is very friendly and helpful. As with many pousadas, the hotel is a very traditional building with a little balcony, nice windows with shutters. The room was very spacious, with a walk-in closet, and views towards the street outside and historic centre, which I liked. "

"I wouldn’t stay on this property again. They gave me a room on the third floor, no elevator and no one to help us with my luggages. It was located on a very downhill street, we were afraid to slide down hill. The bed was hard like a rock. The breakfast didn’t impress me ."

"The stay there was generally great. Good view from the accommodation, quiet and good breakfast. Service is nice, and efficient through WhatsApp. Only one issue is the last night of my stay there are termites. I know that they are not harmful, but the wings and worms dropped on my baggage. I don’t know if there are efficient and sustainable way to avoid this or not. Guess it might be a common issue living in old buildings. Overall, Ouro Preto is so nice, worth coming and living for some time."

"Good location, beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast is good but dinner mediocre. Had reservation for 3 nights but had to cancel the last one due to flight changes. Hotel staff (that only spoke Portuguese) claimed that that had to be approved by Expedia. Contacted Expedia who said that they had to ask the hotel (Catch 22?). After several conversations with both of them I managed to get a small discount that was far inferior to the cost of one night. Will not use Expedia again."

"The photos of the double room are misleading. It appeared to have plenty of space with a nice view of the busy city sidewalks. Instead, our room was woefully small and was damp with a smell of mildew. Our view was an alleyway rather than overlooking the business of the people around town.The staff was friendly but not very helpful overall. We plan to visit this amazing town again but will skip staying here next time. "

"La habitación para 3 era amplia. La Posada está ubicada a 10 min del centro caminando por un terreno plano cosa que no es nada común en Ouro Preto. Lo único es que estás al borde de una de la carreteras de acceso a la Ciudad así que si no te gusta oír coches o motos, llévate tapones! La otra es que para acceder tienes que subir unas escaleras lo cual puede ser pesado si traes maletas."

"Pousada do arcanjo is a gem! This beautiful colonial hotel is conveniently located near the historic section of Ouro Preto. The staff wear period costumes which is such a fun touch. They are super friendly and helpful. The cuisine in Minas Gerais is said to be the best in Brazil and the hotel’s full Brazilian breakfast (café colonial) is a shining example. There’s a lovely afternoon tea as well! My room was very comfortable. I can’t wait to visit again! "
