Charming Suite in the Heart of Charleston

Summary:
Delight in the old-world elegance of this charming suite within a historic brick-built home. With its stately fireplace, wrought-iron bed, and vivid hardwood floors, the room evokes a vibrant, yet restful atmosphere.

The Space:
The house is a traditional Charleston single house built in 1852. It has been renovated but still remains its historical charm.

The Neighborhood:
The home is set in Radcliffeborough, one block from the Medical University of South Carolina. Vibrant restaurants, bars, and shops along King Street are a 10-minute walk away. The Mace Brown Museum of Natural History is steps away.

Getting Around:
You can either walk, bike or Uber to most any place. Parking is supplied onsite for one car and there is street parking available for other cars. We suggest an economy size vehicle to navigate the narrow downtown Charleston streets.

Other Things to Note:
There is a small ensuite bathroom.

First experience with VRBO
Our stay in Charleston was very enjoyable, and the property was clean, and as expected. Also appreciated the private, on site, no charge parking. That alone is worth $50-$100 dollars a night depending on where you are! And to top it off, our plans changed at the last minute and we had to leave two days earlier than planned, and our hostess gave us a very generous refund, even though she was not obligated to and we did not ask for or expect it. Excellent experience all the way around.

Small and quaint rooms
The property was well maintained. It was near a noisy intersection but traffic seemed to quiet down by 9:30 pm. Great place to get in a good walk to see things. Property manager was very accommodating.

Adorable!
Loved the property & location! Close to MUSC, restaurants, fast food, coffee. All within walking distance but easy access via car as well. Easy to get to West Ashley area & Mount Pleasant. Very clean, accommodating, perfect! Small bathroom/shower but easy to maneuver. Thank you for the stay!

Less than expected
If you enjoy bathroom privacy, this is not the place for you. The “door” to the bathroom is a clear glass shower door. There is a curtain that can be pulled but any sounds or odors that may be emitted are not contained to the room, and there is no exhaust fan. There is very limited seating. A bench at the end of the bed. I would suggest providing a folding chair or two and perhaps a TV tray. Upon entering the building, there are a few steps to climb with no hand rail. I have hip problems and found it difficult to get up the stairs without a rail to hold . On the positive side, the location is good. It’s very close to the bus stop which made it convenient to go into town without the hassle of parking. The room was clean. We read reviews about this room being noisy due to its proximity to the front door, but we did not find that to be a problem. Communication with the owner was a little difficult when she was attempting to send us her phone number as VRBO doesn’t publish phone numbers. But, she was creative and was able to get us the needed information. This rental was adequate for 2 nights, but not very comfortable.

Very charming and cute. The location was farther than listed to the historic downtown area but very walkable to King St. The weather was great so did not mind walking. Great front porch!

Charming small room
Lovely room about a mile northwest of most of downtown Charleston. “Wet room” was interesting—shower, toilet and small sink in one area, would not be comfortable for a larger person though we were fine with it. Bed was very comfortable but there was nowhere else to sit. Small for the $ we paid. Charming, though.

100% recommend
The room was beautiful and having our own bathroom was a major perk! Towels, body wash, and shampoo & conditioner were all provided, along with a bottle of wine! Location was perfect and everything we wanted to do was nearby. We travelled by car which was nice to have when going to Folly Beach for the day, but other than that we did not need our car. The Medical University of SC is nearby so you will hear sirens, but there is a sound machine in the room and ear plugs if needed. The Charleston room is right by the front entrance so you will hear people come and go, but it wasn't bothersome for my partner or I. Overall, it was a great place to stay for our first time in Charleston and we would definitely recommend it!

Perfect room in the city
Room was exactly as marketed and served me well. The wet room shower/toilet/ sink was small but got the job done. While the sink was a bit small for washing face/hands, every effort was made to accommodate needs - even slippers! Location can’t be beat in this Walkable neighborhood. Looking forward to staying again when visiting family in the area.

Nice room. Nice location. By front hall.
Overall the room is nice and the host is very accommodating and responsive. Very clean, with all the amenities you need, and in a good location. Took a point off as the room is just off the main door of the house with a lot of noise both in the hall as people go in and out and with people sitting just outside the window into the evening. I do believe the property manager monitors it as they didn’t sit out past 10:00pm which is good.

Cute Room
The room was very clean, inviting, and comfortable. The bathroom is a side room that has a shared tile basin for the toilet and shower area. The location is good and allowed us to walk to a few nice restaurants. It was good having parking at the Inn too. While the room is cute and comfortable, if you have light and sound sensitivities, a different room at the inn might be better. This room is off the street, and the door to the hall doesn't block out a lot of light. We would stay at the Parsons again, just not in this room.

Room was nice for as little time as we spent in it! No problems with the small water closet! It is close to a busy street so do not plan on sleeping in too late. It is a lttle far from King Street and other restaurants but we were able to make a long day and walk to everything.!!

A Jewel Of A Place
Parsons Inn accommodation is compact but charming and comfortable in a great neighborhood close to everything you want to see, but also much more affordable than most of the places in Charleston. The host Karen was responsive to our messages, gracious, and a pleasure to do business with.

Wonderful place!
Lovely big room just outside of the super busy Charleston areas. You are in a local neighborhood, which is quiet at night except for the occasional ambulance or helicopter. Wasn't a big deal, didn't wake me up, and I found it very easy to drive where I wanted to go and park (use parkopedia website, very helpful). The wet room is no big deal, just imagine an oversized shower with small sink on the side and a toilet opposite the shower head. Not sure what all the whining is about, was fine and easy to use. Better than sharing a bathroom! Bed was large, super comfy, and tv with Netflix was great! Lots of nice little touches, like coffee maker with coffee and cream, and the welcome note and wine was a lovely touch (I stayed a full week so not sure she gives wine to everyone) Karen the owner was super responsive if I had a question. Great neighborhood restaurants like Fuel and Stella's (both wonderful and easy parking if you're too tired to drive). I liked being out of the hustle and bustle. Other guests were super nice and I had a lovely stay. Thank you, Karen!

First experience with a wet bath
I felt that the property wasn’t accurately described. What was listed as a suite with 2 bathrooms was actually 1 room and 1 small wet bath. That was not revealed until our final instructions came the day before we arrived. Had I known this, I would not have booked it. The price seemed excessive for this property once we actually saw it.
