In 1891, Fredick L. Olmsted’s firm (renowned for Central Park and The Biltmore) designed Charlotte’s first suburb and one of the nation’s first mixed-use neighborhoods – truly a novel concept at the time. The backbone was the streetcar that allowed residents to travel within the neighborhood as well as downtown.

Edward Dilworth Latta built the streetcar lines and implemented Olmsted’s land design over twenty years and resulting in a complete community that would include a diverse collection of homes surrounding a beautiful green space. Some industry.  Atherton Mill and many other factory buildings in what is now South End, were part of the Dilworth plan as well.

Dilworth as we know it  was recognized for its importance in Charlotte's history and granted protection as a local historic district in 1983. In 1987, Dilworth was added to the National Registry of Historic Places.  The neighborhood has 1,025 structures designated as historically significant.

With its unique character, vibrant atmosphere, and prime location, Dilworth stands out as a desirable destination for travelers seeking an exceptional experience. Book your stay in Dilworth today and unlock the charm and allure of this remarkable neighborhood.

Great location in Charlotte/ Dilworth !
The condo was very clean and in an amazing location! Easy to check in! The condo was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. The king bed was super comfortable! The condo is in an older building and had a slightly musty smell but we didn’t notice it after a day. Overall it worked out great for our visit!

We had the most wonderful stay! Close to restaurants and shopping - and a 40 minute walk to the stadium! There is an adorable tavern only a 4 minute walk away. The condo is special and comfortable - fits 4 perfectly. Fantastic neighborhood and Charlotte experience!

Great visit to Charlotte!
The owners did a great job with all aspects including the "treats" available upon checking in to the property for the first time....nice touch guys! Great location with many restaurants and shopping options close if not walkable. Would stay here again with no hesitation.

Wonderful stay
The location was perfect as it is situated in a lovely neighborhood, good for walking to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Also for us perfect as it was 1mile away from the Atrium hospital where my husband was for a short while. The apartment was clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies, had a lovely balcony for enjoying our morning coffee and evening dinners. The hosts were fantastic! They were very communicative and responsive, and left us scores of goodies, such as breakfast and dinner items for our first days, plus wine and a well stocked bar! I highly recommend this great apartment in Dilworth, especially for a long stay as it becomes your home away from home!

Attention to detail and lovely place
This cozy two bedroom provided a lovely landing place for my my family. It is well decorated, thoughtfully appointed, great closets, and has functional pretty outdoor porch. The fresh lime next to the carafe's was a fun touch and indicative of the attention and service. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay! So close to everything!
We really enjoyed our stay. We came to attend an opening at Ciel Gallery in SouthEnd. This nicely decorated apartment was very close to restaurants and shops and galleries. The owners are so thoughtful and left a lovely welcome package for us. Lots of snacks and toddies. We will most definitely stay with this group when we come back to town!

Great Place to Stay!!
We had a wonderful visit to Charlotte made even better by our delightful stay at our furnished apartment at Magnolia Green. The location was ideal and the apartment had everything we wanted. We will definitely stay there when visiting in the future.

Perfect Getaway!
I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was here! A group of 7 high school friends many who haven't seen each other in 25 years wanted to plan a girls weekend. We hoped for a place where we could hang out together, cook, sit in our Sweats, catch up and just relax. The Magnolia was perfect! We rented two apartments which were side by side and the way it was structured actually allowed for us to have one big suite. The decor was beautiful from the furniture to the beautiful paintings(which I want) to the comforters to the relaxed feel. The location was perfect. Dilworth is so low key and really gives a cute neighborhood feel instead of the feeling the downtown hotel stay can give. We walked everywhere. Coffee shop was .5 miles one way and brunch options were 1.0 mile the other way. When we arrived each apartment had complimentary wine, liquor, and food so we could all enjoy our first night together. Thank you to James, Charlie and everyone else who made this weekend perfect.

Location. Location. Location
The property was a great location for our long weekend in Charlotte. We had a little difficulty getting in initially-with key code. The location was perfect for us. We had a couple of Uptown tours so getting there was easy. We went to a couple of restaurants nearby-Tupelo Honey and Sunflour Baking (for 2 breakfasts). The Dilworth area is a neat area. It was so quiet. We appreciated having the parking place in back. Apartment was well outfitted for our stay-one thing missing were tissues in bathrooms which we were able to pick up in nearby Riteaid. Great customer service and contacts by Manager Charlie.

Beautiful, clean and perfect location!
Wow, talking about Southern Hospitality! This place was perfect! The landlord Charlie, thought of everything. The location is great, the condo is very open and cozy with very comfortable beds. Charlie thought of everything to make sure the stay is comfortable. The kitchen has everything you would need. I will definitely stay here again.

What a delight
We arrived to spotless accommodations with lights on & they thought of all the little details. Charlie had left us a couple bottles of wine, white & red, there was pasta & marinara, English muffins & butter, filtered water, orange juice, adult beverages complete with lime on cutting board. The Internet was fast, it was a great convience to have a washer & dryer and it's always a plus to have 2 bathrooms. Definitely an eclectic modern style like IKEA meets the MET. Pillows were comfortable & so was bedding, our ONLY suggestion would be a bed topper in master BR, like the spa sensations memory foam topper only sold on Walmart.com....bed a bit hard. This was our favorite VRBO stay by far! Thanks Charlie!!!

Great Location & Owners!
Its all about feeling at home when you are away! Not only did we feel welcomed and at home - the location was spot on! Great area for a morning walk for coffee (or a doughnut!) or an evening out. The owners included several nice touches to make us feel at home on our arrival - from drinks to snacks. Charlie met us at our check-in time to walk through everything with us. The apartment is old but nicely modernized and if you like the retro/modern feel you will like this place! There were a few minor cosmetic issues (couple of broken blind slats in the master bedroom and a difficult to open door to the balcony) but those really paled in comparison to the overall apartment. We absolutely would consider this spot or others owned by the Home Collection on our regular visits to Charlotte!

A fabulous visit to Charlotte!
We were 4 adults and 1 child, and the foundation of our great visit to Charlotte was this apartment. We were greeted with a welcome package on the kitchen counter, wine in the fridge, and classical music on the stereo. We checked in with Jim by text, who responded immediately even thought it was late, and got ourselves to bed. The apartment is spectacular: beautifully decorated and with all mod cons. How refreshing to be able to do laundry as and when on vacation! I have one reservation: we had a 7-year-old with us, and there wasn't much for her to do - our fault, not Jim's - but there isn't outdoor space for running around. Having said that, I would stay here again in an instant and hope I get another excuse to go to Charlotte soon.

Absolutely the best VRBO ever!
I have used VRBO many times in the past in my travels and have to say this was the most welcoming, warm and inviting apartment I have ever stayed. The apartment is in a beautifully restored building within the Dilworth Historic District, which is a lovely, walking neighborhood. We could tell at first sight that it was well maintained and cared for. Jim requested that I call him when we arrived so he would know we arrived safely which was I thought was very special. He answered promptly and made sure to say he was available if we had questions about the apartment or needed additional information about the area. (He had sent me info and a map via email on local shops, grocery stores and restaurants along with his recommendations - many within walking distance). When my sister and I arrived in the evening the lights were on, classical music was playing and a platter of fresh fruits, English muffins, coffee, cookies, nuts, dried pasta and sauce, and red wine were waiting for us. The refrigerator was stocked with orange juice, white wine, butter, and sparking water. I had everything I needed for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. How many home owners think of all those little things. The living room was warm and comfortable and had a retro looking bar stocked with tonic/soda water, fresh limes and crystal containers of vodka, gin and scotch. There was also a note welcoming us and to enjoy the amenities. The bathrooms had thick, luxurious towels along with hotel sized soaps and lotions and a blow dryer. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with lots of pillows and high quality linen and each room had plenty of drawers which made it easy to unpack and feel right at home. The apartment was on the second floor so there are stairs to climb and had a large open deck where we sat and watched the world go by. We came back to our, " home away from home," Sunday afternoon after completing a 2 day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 39.3 mile walk and enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck while watching several families walking home with arms full of pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch. I would not hesitate to stay at any of the properties offered by Home Collection when I travel back to Charlotte. Jim and James' attention to detail made our stay in Charlotte even more special and I would highly recommend their properties to anyone. (James it was a pleasure meeting and talking with you and I hope our paths cross again)!
