Bathroom: Bath, Walk-In Shower, Toilet. LPG underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Laundry service available on request. Doggy extras. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on lead at all times. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 3 steps in the garden. . The Bobbin is a charming, converted barn, starting its life as a cow shed and pig sty. It has been lovingly presented to a high-quality standard retaining many original features including the feeding trough, dovecote, beautiful exposed stone walls, and oak beams. It is also fabulously equipped with a Denby pottery service, Viners cutlery, fine Italian leather sofas including a recliner, Wi-Fi, Sky including Sky Cinema, Disney+, Netflix, children’s toys and games amongst many other things. A welcome pack is also provided which includes sumptuous chocolates, biscuits, complimentary toiletries, and lots more to help ease you into your holiday.
The Bobbin owners are dog-friendly and having two of their own, realise the importance of enabling guests to bring their beloved pets on holiday. Doggie hospitality treats are provided plus a loan of a waffle dog towel for wiping muddy paws! The owners also offer the loan of a doggy bed, feed, and dog bowls free of charge if required as they appreciate space can be limited when travelling.
The beautiful Matlock Forest is only a 5-minute drive away which is dog friendly with many routes to explore! During warm weather season, an upright fan is supplied to help you keep cool. The Bobbin is located on the edge of the Peak District giving easy access for exploring lovely villages and towns such as the historic spa town of Matlock just 5 minute’s drive away with its ’Little Switzerland Gorge’, numerous bars/eateries, ice cream parlour, steam train and boating lake.
Matlock Bath is worth a visit with its famous attractions ’Heights of Abraham’ and ’Gullivers Kingdom’. The iconic town of Bakewell is home to the famous Bakewell Pudding. Chatsworth House (the Palace in the Peak) is only a 20-minute drive away. After something more adventurous, then why not visit Carsington for kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, cycling, or walking? Or visit the historical town of Chesterfield and be amazed by its unusual, crooked spire and lively outdoor market. This is just a small suggestion as there is so much more to explore from the doorstep of The Bobbin. A country pub and farm shop café serving delicious homemade food are both a short walk from The Bobbin doorstep.

The Bobbin
Stunning property, superbly finished and immaculate. Nothing overlooked and lovely welcome treats for pooches and their owners. Not so great, and not well publicised, is the location - the property fronts on to a VERY busy/noisy 'A' road, the traffic being relentless. Spoils an otherwise perfect property and, sadly, would prevent a return visit.
Stayed 2 nights in Sep 2023
