The room are clean and you are staying in an authentic Thai-style house. Let it be said up front, we did not have a *bad* stay, just not a great one.
The rooms are separated one from another by wood about 1/2cm thick. This does not stop sound from passing from one room to the next. Most other guests stayed for only one night, which was good for us if they were noisy, but most were.
The air conditioner also caused the walls to vibrate noisily.
The other problems were things the host could definitely do something about: insects. Breakfast was not cleaned away quickly enough and, as far as I could tell, the surfaces were never ever cleaned, so lines of ants were visible near the coffee serving table as well as at the tables where guests can eat.
The bathrooms are not sealed to the outside and have no mosquito repellent devices etc, so in the evening, they are teeming with mosquitos and other insects. Enough said, I think.
Finally, the coffee is instant coffee served in cups too small for the sachets. I cannot fathom why that would be the preference.
