The best thing about this place is its location. Chicago Ave, where the rental sits, runs right into downtown. Our small-town family fairly easily figured out the train and bus system, and there are many public transportation options directly around the area.
There is a dog park right across the street and another big one at the end of the block. The neighborhood felt safe exploring with my kids.
The layout of the facility is really nice. Plenty of space. The rooms are large, and even though we didn’t cook, the kitchen appeared well stocked.
The only downside was that the place lacked attention to some details. Nothing major. Several light switches didn’t seem to go to anything, a few light bulbs were burned out, there were quite a few places where it was evident that a new coat of paint is in order. The prominent issue was that the bunk beds were rickety. They were broken in places and poorly fastened together. The top bunk felt dangerous.
Overall, we had an amazing stay. Easy in and out, accessible to everything, solid communication, and clean place to visit. (Bonus that there is free parking in a residential style garage!)
Perhaps I’m nit picky, but it’s 4 stars for me (maybe 4.5). If they upgraded the bunk beds, changed some light bulbs, and added a fresh coat of paint, it’s definitely 5 stars.
