  • Hitsujiyama Park (羊山公園) in Chichibu has an amazing field of Shiba-zakura, or moss phlox. There are nine different types of moss phlox that cover over 17,000 sqm (4.3 acres) of the park. Not only is the scenery amazing, you can enjoy the sweet scent in the air as well! *They are usually in full bloom from late April to the first week of May. *The closest station is Yokoze Station or Seibu Chichibu Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line. There is an extremely steep hill on the way from Seibu Chichibu Station so if you're not up for that or have senior citizens in your party, definitely go from Yokoze Station. It's about 1.5 to 2hrs from Tokyo.

An excellent, new hotel in a somewhat inconvenient location. 20mins walk to Seibu Chichibu Station and not much around the hotel. However it’s only about 10-15 mins to the shrine and old street. The hotel onsen was very good.

Clean room, spacious and good facilities in Onsen area. We enjoy our stay in this hotel. However, we stayed in a room on the 2nd floor, we could hear some noise from traffic and we could smell foods in our room during morning breakfast time.

Poor service ; never go again

We requested twin bed rooms with wheelchair facilities before our arrival MONTHS in advance. Upon check-in, we were given tatami rooms with stairs inside. That was discrimination against our disabilities. The manager told us no rooms were available for us and in exchange, she instructed us to go to the West Route Inn on the same street (cheaper rooms). When we checked in to the West Route Inn, we were requested to pay as walk-in guests. We then went back to Gramd Route Inn confronting the same manager who to,d us no refund could be made.
