Welcome to Captain's Rest - a Brand New Luxury Townhome located on Marsh Island, directly across the Channel from Chincoteague Island. As you take the exit for Marsh Island from the Causeway, you'll feel like you're pulling onto your own private island. With only a handful of homes here, you'll love the peace and quiet that Marsh Island offers. All the festivities of Chincoteague Island are mere steps away, but you return to the sweet serenity that only Marsh Island offers. This tiny Island was formerly a Harbor for Commercial Fishermen that was converted to Waterfront Homes. At Captain's Rest, take in Bay Views that are simply stunning - 360 degrees of Water Views of the Chincoteague Channel, Historic Main Street, the Bay, Marsh, and of course THE most incredible Sunsets to be found.

Captain’s Rest sleeps 7 in luxury and style. This lovely End Unit Townhome is decorated with a tasteful Coastal Flair that will leave you wanting more. Situated on the Water’s Edge, you’ll enjoy Fishing and Crabbing right in the backyard, and Boats Slips are coming for Summer 2020! Park the car, kick off your flip flops in the Foyer, and let the fun begin!

Relax in the gorgeous Living Area and enjoy Free WiFi, Flat Screen Cable TV, luxurious Furnishings, and of course, those Views, after a fun-filled day exploring Assateague National Seashore. The Open Floor Plan is perfect for spending time together without ever feeling crowded. Dinner with a View can be had every precious Vacation Day in the beautifully decorated Dining Room. This is a very beautiful location. Unfortunately, one of the beds is without a cover, which we didn't realize before arriving. There were a few blankets in the closet which we washed ourselves since they were not clean upon arrival to use since there wasn't a cover. There was a smell when we arrived, like cigarette smoke, but I also did a bit of a clean up when we arrived to get the place smelling better. This home doesn't come with coffee, or anything extra, like most other properties (and we have traveled extensively throughout the U.S.) we have stayed in. We had a few issues we needed to communicate with the management office, and they were very responsive. But, it is an absolutely beautiful location, and the views are just the perfect getaway. It is a place to fall in love with despiter the few hospitality issues.

No surprises with this property! I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness and this property exceeded my expectations. My family travels a lot; this property is top of our list! Simply beautiful!! I loved the location. Never stayed on the sound side before. Loved it! Was so peaceful. Actually prefer it to oceanfront, after this visit. The nighttime view of Main Street was an unexpected treat. Loved watching the different water sports and wildlife on/by the water. When in the living/dining room it’s as if you’re on a boat, you’re that on top of the water. The pier was wonderful to crab off of and to watch the sunset. The kitchen was fully stocked. One of the best I’d seen. Even the storage closet had a lot of extra items to compliment the stay. Parking was wonderful; right beside the house. Just a short drive to the beach and all area attractions. Overall, this owner went above and beyond! 10/10!! Just a wonderful property! *The only downside we had (NOT at fault of the owner or rental company) was that in the evenings some restaurants on Main Street played live music. This was fun while awake, but not so fun when trying to go to sleep. If something like that would bother you, bring a sleep machine.

House is nicely appointed and faces the water with a sitting balcony. It sits on a peninsula so its quiet. Must walk up the stairs to living area and more stairs to bedrooms. Linens and paper/cleaning supplies were skimpy and the cleanliness could have been better.

This was our first trip to Chincoteague and Captain's Rest was a beautiful property for us to enjoy the community and views. We loved getting to see Main Street from almost all the windows in the house and enjoyed the home, too. It's well stocked with almost everything you could need. Our 3-year-old loved the toys in the "playroom" as we called it, and we all appreciated the beach chairs for our day trip to the beach - where we even got to see some of the famous ponies. Plus, the home had good Internet connectivity for those few work calls we had to take and of course, for streaming TV. We can't wait to visit again!

Perfect Getaway!
We had the best time at Captain’s Rest! The property was beautiful, comfortable, and super clean. Our favorite part was the amazing views from all the decks. We saw dolphins and all sorts of wildlife every morning and evening. We would love to come back! It’s a gem!

Beautiful condo, very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Only a couple suggestions-add a TV to the double single room and put garbage cans in all bedrooms. Really enjoyed out stay.

Our townhome lived up to its description and then some. It was sparkling clean. We like to cook and eat in and It had the best equipped kitchen of any condo/townhome we have ever rented. Location-wise it was close to everything we wanted to see and do.

Sheets and towels package
We ordered the sheets and towel package for our stay and we figured that the beds would have been made and the towels hung in the bathrooms, but none of that was done. Plus, upon leaving, we had to strip the linens from the beds and gather up all the towels and place then in a bag provided. My complaint is, if I paid for linen service then why did my family and I have to make and then strip down our own beds.

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED!
If you want to RELAX, this is the place for you! Sitting on the deck with adult beverages, cooking a great dinner by the bay, driving to Assateaque to see the ponies, just an all around perfect long weekend! The house is PERFECTLY decorated, with comfortable beds, and just all around the perfect place to stay! I just needed a place to escape to for my 54th birthday and this was absolutely perfect! Next time we will bring some family or friends. You can absolutely trust me when I say you will NOT be disappointed! We are both clean freaks and this place was spotless! The management was right there with daily texts in case we needed anything. These owners are A++++. Go ahead, take the time to relax sitting on the dock on the bay!

Beautiful Island Views!
The home is located on Marsh Island, a quick drive (or boat ride) to Chincoteague. We loved the views on the water and of downtown and made friends with the cats and ducks that roam the island. In addition to the views from the many windows and decks, the house is stunning. There are three large bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a bonus reading nook with a small pull-out sofa. (The nook has its own bathroom and door.) The house has everything you could want in a great location.

Wonderful stay. Condo was immaculate. Beautiful sunsets and out of the way of Chincoteague traffic. Highly recommend! our stay was a little late in the season so many activities and restaurants were Shut down. Will come a little earlier next time

Beautiful house, fantastic location!
We had such a wonderful time at Captain’s Rest! The house was not only beautiful but also we’ll equipped - we were so impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was as well as all of the children’s books and toys. The property was clean, the location was fantastic and our whole group had a wonderful time - we’ll definitely be looking to stay here again in the future!
