Enter through the light brown gateway and look for the praying model of the Fatima incarnation of the Virgin Mary. Pass through and notice the elegant, white porch at the entrance to the church, its tasteful pediment hoisted by two fairly narrow pillars. On top of the tower’s summit are a cross and an old-fashioned clock that is painted in blue on the white façade. Spot the bell hanging below it, just in front of the three brown window shutters. Sit on one of the outdoor benches in the garden area and admire the colorful Virgin statue and artwork.
Enter the church to appreciate it as a quiet and spacious refuge from the noise and bustle of city life. It also acts as an ideal shelter from the afternoon heat. Note the colorful external light permeating the intricate stained-glass windows, which portray dramatic biblical scenes.
Sit at one of the dark brown wooden pews and consider how modern and airy the nave appears. Inspect the various works of art hanging on the walls and look up at the central chandelier. You may wish to attend a religious service for a sense of the local customs.
