However, when we arrived around 9 p.m. on September 21, 2024, we were shocked to find the hotel completely dark, with no lights on anywhere. "We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this hotel was. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed that I have slept in during this trip! The hotel staff were friendly and although we did not speak German and they did not speak English, we managed to communicate. There was a locked bike cage in the garage which we appreciated. By bike it was a quick cycle into the centre of town where we found a bakery, grocery store and a lovely park. "

"This was a transit hotel for us, as we've been to Dresden many times, as just needed a place near the Autobahn. As such, it met the moment. Service in the restaurant was very, very slow, unusual for Germany, we found. I had trouble even getting the bill to pay. Food very ordinary. I think in some ways we could have done better than this place for a transit hotel, and if you have the time, best to do a better search than we did. "

"What's unique is that it really is just a fox box, but as such it's great. If you just need a hole to rest your body overnight, that's it. It should be mentioned though that the upper ones are hard to reach for a 75 year old. The ones down below are fine. This should be made clear, or even offered as a choice. It's what you need to know in a bunk bed too: upstairs or downstairs!"
