Only snag was that the WhatsApp concierge number was not very helpful the couple of times we reached out to it because apparently the person who monitors it does not live on property. Better to visit the front desk in person if there is a question "

"Had a nice family trip. Wish they had ice in buildings but get that it’s bagged and needs to be delivered. But why have ice buckets in each room if you deliver in an ice bucket? Early check-in is key. We did not and found very little availability for dinner, unless you don’t mind eating at 9:30pm. Similar volume with the excursions. Don’t forget to bring a Yeti, straws, and sweet-and-low if you prefer it. Going back in 5 weeks so really like the resort. "

"Our junior sweet in building 4 was spacious, modern, and comfortable. All balconies have impressive ocean views and jacuzzi tubs. The entire property is very scenic and well-maintained. There are plentiful drinking/dining options and the food and drinks rarely disappointed. We went for the holidays and the Christmas dinner was a true feast. Lots of activities are available at the resort and the surrounding area. The beach has tons of space, although beach chairs could be tricky to find if you get there after 10AM. The staff and service were the defining highlight for us. Everyone was incredibly attentive and friendly. We really appreciated the relative quiet and serenity of Akumal in comparison to Cancun and even Tulum. We would strongly recommend Akumal Bay to anyone looking for an amazing vacation. "

"The customer service and hospitality at the buffet and restaurants were excellent at this resort. They were all so kind and accommodating with my girlfriend’s gluten allergy. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. The dinner buffet was decent but nothing to write home about. However, you have the option to book a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants. The restaurant food was absolutely fantastic. As for the amenities, there were three pools (one of them with a swim up bar). But I spent most of my time snorkelling at the beach. You can borrow a snorkel free for one hour and for a whole day for $15USD. The hotel room was clean for the most part. However, the bathtub was quite dirty. We requested the front desk to clean the bath tub and they told me that they will inform housekeeping. Our bathtub was still gross the next day. I guess they didn’t inform housekeeping at all. The front desk could’ve been better. Other than that, this resort was overall great. I highly recommend to everyone."
