About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Lonely Goat Olives, Hunter Valley. Children under 12 free. Pet friendly.

Lonely Goat Olives offers a boutique, 2 bedroom cottage on our 100 acre olive farm in the picturesque Hunter Valley. Private, charming and nestled among spectacular views.
Cosy up in front of the fire place in your room, or sit on the huge 50m2 deck overlooking the valley and olive grove. There are comfortable chairs and a small dining table in each room. There is no indoor lounge area, but with this view you will want to spend all your time sitting on the deck relaxing and taking it all in!
One bedroom has a 4 poster king size bed, the other room has a king size sleigh bed and a single bed (the cottage sleeps 5 in total). Each room has its own private en suite with luxurious 2 person walk in shower!
Use the open air kitchen BBQ, or wood fire pizza oven to cook up a feed.
Collect eggs from our chook house, pick fruit from our orchard, fresh vegetables & herbs from the garden, or catch fish from the dam!
We also have a range of hampers & grazing platters full of delicious local produce available for purchase (must be pre-ordered).

We are family friendly, if you are travelling with kids, send us a message so we can update your quote to a family package.

We are dog friendly, your dog is welcome in the cottage but not on any furniture. The cottage balcony is fenced, but the rest of the property has no dog-proof fences so you will need to keep good control of your dog so it doesn't chase or harass any wildlife or our highland cattle.

Lonely Goat Olives also offers a bespoke ceremony location. Create your dream wedding, naming ceremony or family celebration at our stunning outdoor ceremony space - perfect for unique, intimate events.

Families, couples, bird watchers, photographers, painters, walkers, wildlife observers have all loved their stay (but don't just take our word for it, read the reviews from previous guests), and Lonely Goat Olives was previously voted one of the Best 52 Weekends Away by the Sydney Morning Herald!

If you are looking for flexible, personal options on a property that is completely powered by solar energy and has been built with love by our family to share with yours - come and find out why Lonely Goat Olives.

Rustic cottage in a beautiful location.
Beautiful and peaceful location. Very rustic cottage. Wood fires in each bedroom. Outdoor kitchen consists of a pizza oven and BBQ. If you want privacy and a quiet location and not wanting a fancy kitchen this is the place for you. Perhaps a little dusty but overall we had a lovely time. Great walks around the property.

Fabulous stay
Thanks so much Keith and Elisabeth for a wonderful stay. Both so lovely and helpful, greeting us on arrival, showed us around the property and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The property manager was also really helpful and friendly. We took our two dogs and they loved it (the balcony is all fenced off, which is perfect for dogs). Beautiful sunrise in the morning, great fire pit outside and pizza oven. The eggs from the chickens were delicious. It’s nice and quiet yet close enough to town to still do activities. Would come back again. Definitely recommend. Thank you!

Lovely getaway in an olive grove with outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and firepit
This place is absolutely stunning! The house has 2 self-contained bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathroom, fireplace, sitting area and small fridge. We went in the winter, but think it would be better to come in spring/autumn next time so that we can enjoy the outdoor areas a bit more. The firepit was our favourite spot in the late afternoons, and we spent time on the other side by the outdoor kitchen in the mornings. The place is so peaceful and tranquil. We loved wandering around the property, and saw quite a few kangaroos around the olive grove. We saw a deer once driving up the dirt road. Even the highland cattle were friendly and came to say hi some mornings. We tried fishing one day, but had no luck. The groundskeeper said he tried fishing a couple days before and said that he didn't get any either, so it could've been a winter thing. This place is great if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle for a bit. :)

Unforgettable experience! Great hosts!
Our stay at Lonely Goat Olives was a highlight of our Australia trip. Beautiful location tucked away in the south Hunter Valley and 20 min from wine country. Wild life was amazing and just sitting on the deck taking in the views was a treat. Unforgettable starry sky nights. Keith and Elizabeth went out of their way to assist with anything that we needed and to make the most of our stay. If we are ever in the Hunter Valley again, LGO will be a must!

Incredible location which enabled us to totally switch off. The camp fire, pizza oven and outdoor kitchen allows the simplicity of camping but the double bedrooms and bathrooms mean you still have comfortable living. Best Xmas/new year holiday in a very long time.

Perfect Get Away
Could not have created in my mind a more perfect place to relax and enjoy the countryside. We sat by the fire pit and watched the stars. We watched the sunrise and the kangaroos grazing in the olive fields. We walked around the estate and saw more kangaroos, the highland cattle and searched for the ever illusive wombats. We painted in the sunshine. The owners are wonderful inspirational people. We could not have asked for more.

The Great Escape
From the moment we arrived at the property Keith and Elizabeth made us feel welcome. Nothing is a problem for them, if you need or want to know something, just ask! The cottage is perfect. The only reason we had for heading into town was to stock up on food. We didn’t want to leave the property and cooked all our meals there. Sitting around the fire gazing at the stars with a few drinks at night and watching the abundant wildlife in the day. We caught 5 good sized silver perch at the pond with the jetty within the space of 30 minutes. Next time maybe we’ll try the other pond for some Rainbow Trout. Overall it was the most relaxing experience I have had in a long time at the most unique place you could hope. Hats off to the owners who have created the most amazing place through there labour of love over the last 20 years and Thankyou for sharing your amazing property. You will not find a more private, relaxing place to stay. It’s a hidden gem.
