We enjoyed our stays, the host was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The room was cosy, clean and tidy and worked for us. The host made some soup for our arrival as it was a cold wet day when we arrived. Would recommend :-)
We loved our stay from start to finish:) The bed was very comfortable, food amazing and Una was super attentive and helpful. We would highly recommend this BnB especially if you want to experience true Irish hospitality. Thank you!
My wife would probably give this property a 5-star rating because she loves love, iconic Irish B&Bs. The host was the best part. I personally found the property to need some TLC and updating, but the kindness and attentiveness of the host made up for what the property lacked.
Old building, very dated decor, damp, no lock on the door, lots of clutter everywhere with dirty bedding. Feel so bad giving this review as the woman who owns it was very friendly.
We took one look at our dirty tired room, and promptly left. This place is a disaster. I doubt I will get a refund because I didn't cancel before the allowed check out time. However I wish to warn anyone from staying here. The ensuite was disgusting with used toiletries and filth everywhere. There was an old carpet draped over the part used tea and coffee facilities. Hairs in the bed. We booked this because it said it was pet friendly. It's not. Pets are not allowed in the building because the owner is allergic. So why say you are? The place is cold and is damp. I'd sleep in the car before staying here.
Beautiful setting, nice room, very friendly and welcoming host and a lovely breakfast. Had some great chats with Una who also drove me the short distance into town when i needed it as its a 20 minute walk. Definitely well worth a visit.
Stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding in the hotel nearby, we had a very warm welcome ask were offered soup on arrival. The views are beautiful from the house. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the owner was a lovely friendly lady.

Super local B&B ideal for the visiting angler
The owner, Una, is a fantastic host, making me feel welcome from the first moment.
I was visiting to take part in the annual Cootehill Fishing Festival competition, and this was the first time staying at the Riverside. Una is also one of the festival organisers so her local knowledge is unrivalled.
For fishermen, this is an ideal base, with a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day, and for those that want it, home-cooked dinner after a day on the lakeside. There is always an offer of a cup of tea or some soup when you arrive back in the evening.
For the anglers, most important there is an out-building to dry your fishing tackle after a wet day and a large fridge to keep your bait fresh.
To be fair, the decor and facilities may disappoint those who are expecting 'the Ritz', but in my experience the Riverside is typical of the local, friendly B&B you can expect in this area.
For any angler has not visited the Cootehill area, what's stopping you? The fishing is great!!
Stayed here with my boyfriend as we had a wedding at the nearby Errigal. Cannot recommend enough! The owner was an absolute angel, so friendly with a nice cuppa waiting for us at our arrival! Breakfast was absolutely delicious with nice big portions! As for location, it was perfect for us with a comfortable walk (<10 mins) back from the Errigal even after a few lemonades.
Thanks so much for the brilliant stay!

Riverside b and b
Service very pleasant, good breakfast. Room a little dated
lovely surroundings and staff very friendly and helpful. Only stayed 1 night due to disability but had booked for 6. The owner understood this and it caused no problems. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice friendly holiday with staff which nothing is too much for them
Attended a wedding in Errigal lodge hotel; Riverside house was very convenient, clean and comfortable. Host was very helpful and breakfast was excellent.
