"We had a blast at this Barfield location in Marco. We were two families and lots of children under 8. The bedroom layout with bunks and twins was perfect. The two masters worked well for adults. The kids loved the pool. House stocked with all kitchenware you would need. The layout was spacious with lots of seating and eating areas. The location was great on the island, and we appreciated the beach gear. The management company is very organized and responsive. We had a wonderful stay!"

"Everyone had a blast. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Frank was very responsive if we needed anything. There were plenty of beach items in the garage for our beach days! Of course the kids loved the pool!"

The host continually promised that the "Property Manager" was on the way to fix things. No one ever showed up; I suspect there is no property manager. We removed rat and disinfected area ourselves. "Nice, clean home! They do need to update the listing as this is NOT a 4 bedroom, only 3 total. No instructions on how to turn the pool on which led to chilly water and no swimming during our stay. "Great property on the water, but renters should be warned that Stan's bar is just across the canal, and the bands are really loud... all day long. The unit is could use upgrades throughout, especially in the master bath and kitchen. The photos in the listing make the space seem a lot newer and lighter than it is. Most screens had holes in them, so fresh air - especially in the evening when the mosquitoes were thick - was not an option. Not an issue in the summer, when AC 24/7 is the norm. But...

"This place was a great find. Really unique in different ways. Booking and checkin were flawless. The owner responded real time. The boat was really clean and ready for our arrival. The property is great with a ship store with more than essentials. The living quarters were very comfortable and well equipped. We took advantage of the pool ( which was great) and the new nearby restaurant is a treasure. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. We had a few minor issues that we relayed to the owner and were comfortable with the response, hence the 4 star. Book it, you will love it. "

"I spent 9 nights here in January. I used it as a base for exploring and fishing the Everglades. It’s very clean and peaceful. There is a new restaurant about to open on site which will be a great addition. The pool area was clean and a great place to chill after a day in the sun. The staff were very nice and helpful. "

"It’s not often rental photos are exactly what you get when you arrive, but this property was! So clean, so well decorated and homey! I stayed with my husband and two boys 2 & 3 and it couldn’t have gone any better for us. Everything was clean and well maintained inside and out, the pool was absolutely wonderful, so many pool floats and toys for the boys to keep them entertained when they weren’t playing in the play room with all the awesome toys provided. It’s so peaceful and quiet on Marco unlike any place we have stayed in Florida, I can see why it holds such a special place in Zac and Mary’s heart. There’s a no shortage of quality or comfort in this home from the beautiful flowers lining the pool to the massive refrigerator of my dreams in the open concept kitchen. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, Mary was wonderful at suggesting restaurants for a special occasion dinner as well. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful home, we are already looking forward to booking again!"
