About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Walk to OSU & Downtown

Park your car and walk! You'll be in a safe, tree-filled neighborhood with sidewalks. OSU is just four blocks away and it's an easy twelve block downtown, with many restaurants. The nearest large grocery store is nine blocks away and you have four coffee shops nearby. If you have children, walk five minutes (in adult walking time) to a park with children's play equipment.

NO check out chores, except wash the dishes you used before leaving.

Pets: Maximum of two dogs. Other animals must be approved by owner before the reservation is finalized. Pet fee is charged. We recommend the rover service if you are going to an event and must leave your pet at the house.

This updated Craftsman-style home was built in 1905, using locally logged and milled Douglas fir. The original custom-built kitchen cabinetry and the original Douglas fir flooring upstairs is still in use. The house has an old-fashioned house-wide front porch, with chairs and tables for you to enjoy the sun and the breeze.

The old formal front parlor now has pull-down wall bed with a sitting area by the windows. A solid wood door can be closed to separate the parlor from the kitchen.

The family's everyday living space now has a smart TV with a Roku and Netflix, along with comfortable chairs, a sofa and end tables. Two folding work desks are available, along with a desk in the master bedroom.

The home has been rewired with plenty of outlets for lights and electronics. If your charging cables aren't long enough, we provide extension cords with surge protectors.

The front and back yards are available for your use. The yards are being renovated to be sustainable spaces for use by birds, butterflies and people throughout the year. The backyard has a small patio with chair and tables, shaded by a magnolia and a Japanese maple. The fig tree is growing up and you might get a few figs if you come at the right time of year.

For visitors to OSU: Reser Stadium, Gill Coliseum and the OSU Welcome Center are a little over a mile away. Goss stadium is under a mile. All are easy, safe walks.

Number of Guests:
The maximum number of guests for a reservation is 6. Infants are included in this number.

The beds:

* Queen bed in the south upstairs bedrooms.
* 2 twin beds in the north upstairs bedrooms.
* 2 extra long twins that can be converted into a king bed in the upstairs master bedroom. New mattresses. Let us know which you want.
* Pull down queen size wall bed (Murphy bed) in the downstairs living area. A solid wood door can be closed to give this space some privacy.
* All the beds have fluffy pillows, along with plenty of blankets for winter or cool summer nights. The bedrooms are bright and comfortable. Linens, pillows, duvets and blankets are provided. Window air conditioners are installed during the summer.

Heating:
Forced air central heating.

Cooling:
We put in window air conditioners in the upstairs bedrooms during the summer. The house has plenty of fans, upstairs and down, which usually provide enough cooling for our mild summers.

Wi-fi:

Wi fi is free, with the most dependable wi-fi provider in Corvallis. We provide their 400 Mbps service. The router signal is available through the entire house, the front porch and some ways into the back yard.

Streaming and Cable
Netflix subscription and Roku streaming access are provided. We don't have cable at this time.

Kitchen:

The large kitchen still has the traditional high ceiling and the original cabinetry. The oak dining table seats six. The kitchen has a full-size range and refrigerator and is stocked with sharp knives, kitchen utensils, pots, pans and everything else you need to make a full meal. Coffee, tea, spices and oils are supplied. If you want a specific cooking item for your feast, just ask.

Breakfast:
No breakfast is provided, but the kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, milk, and we provide a few snacks to stave off hunger.

Bathroom:

The bathroom and the home's plumbing have been completely renovated, with new tub, toilet and sink. The bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedrooms on on the upper floor. Fluffy towels, soap and shampoo are provided.

Laundry:
A new washer and dryer has been installed. Laundry detergent, softener and dryer sheets are provided.

Outside:
The front porch and yard and the tree-filled, fenced backyard are available to guests, with tables and chairs.

Available Spaces:

The entire house, front yard and back yards are available for guests, with the exception of the locked master bedroom closet, the furnace room and the garage. If you have bicycles, we can discuss storing them in the garage.

Check-in:

Keyless self check-in. We are next door if you have any questions or problems.

Cars/ Transport:

Off street parking for two cars. Street parking is available on the east side of the street..Parking is easy around town, except downtown on Friday and Saturday nights. On football game days, it's better to leave the car at the house and walk to the stadium. Uber and Lyft are available. Bus service is free and a route goes by three blocks away.

Stairs and Access:

The bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are a bit steep. However, a pull-down queen-size wall bed is downstairs next to the bathroom if someone in you group does not want to climb stairs.

Children:

We are happy to host children under two, but the house is not childproofed. We do have safety bars on all the low upstairs windows so no one can fall out.

Great location to explore OSU
Plenty of food and shopping within walking distance. Highly responsive host. We enjoyed our stay. The only caveat is that if you're tall, my husband is 6'4", the upstairs stairs to ceiling is problematic but typical for the era of the house.

Cute and charming home in a great location
Our family of 4 (children 18&20) stayed for 4 nights. We loved the location as we were a little over an hour from the coast, 45 min to Eugene to watch the Olympic trials and able to find places to run and walk safely close by. The home is older but we found that to be charming. It was super clean and comfortable. I was a little worried coming from the East coast about not having central area but it was not as issue with mild days and cool nights. We had everything we needed for cooking breakfast and some simple meals for dinner. Rosalind has great communication. There is only one bathroom but that wasn’t an issue for us. I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

OSU Family Weekend Stay
This house was perfect for our family of 5 for OSU’s spring family weekend! Our adult ‘kids’ could come and go as they pleased and it was very close to campus and downtown. The neighborhood is quiet while being in relative proximity to some fraternity houses that were part of our festivities. Beds were comfy, rooms cute, and the home’s architecture was charming. The only challenges were 1 bathroom for 5 people (we used a schedule) and there isn’t a dishwasher. Solo cups and paper plates helped a ton. Would love to stay here again!

Wedding Stay
Just the roominess for accommodating us and mom-in-law. Since our son was getting married, we were able to have a little elbow room for preparing decor and food. Also to have the other parents over for some socializing. A quiet and easy place.

Great Experience in Corvallis
We stayed here to check out OSU with 2 teenage boys. The house was perfect for us as everyone got their own rooms and we were close to everything we wanted to do. We even walked home from a basketball game one night and it was an easy comfortable walk. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of coffee. Would definitely stay here again.

Attention to Detail
The house is in a great location - walkable and proximity to OSU. Although the kitchen is not modern, it is very functional and had everything that I needed to cook full meals. One note - the only bathroom is downstairs (just off the kitchen) and the bedrooms are upstairs. Makes for a trek for nighttime visits. Be alert that the side door to the yard tends to pop open when the front door is closed. Created an issue for my dog but Rosalind was understanding and we were able to address it. I would stay here again.

walking distance to OSU
neighborhood great and is close to OSU and the property was exactly as pictured and described. I had not noticed that there was only one bathroom and its off the kitchen. It didnt bother us but there are some steepish stairs if anyone needs to use the restroom at night. The house is a nice cozy farm house style house that is comfortable and charming. It was also reasonably priced. would definitely stay here again.

Visit for an OSU tour
Great college town neighborhood with easy access to the OSU campus. The 1901 cottage with numerous updates was as advertised. The appliances were modern, downstair rooms were comfortable, upstairs bedrooms were fine. We would not hesitate renting this property again. I would have liked to have had contact with the owner to flesh out the history of this very interesting property.

Weekend Get Away
Walk to OSU, was the perfect place for our weekend! Location was, as they said, walkable to the college and to downtown... we did both. There was ample room for our party of 4, which required use of the 3 bedrooms... beds were comfy. The kitchen was stocked with everything one would need for dining in, however, we chose to walk into town for our meals. We did do morning coffee on the front porch, the table and chairs were a charming spot for this and made us get quite the late start. All and all we had a wonderful time, the house was adorable with all of its old charm. We will definitely stay at, Walk To OSU when we come back to Corvallis.

Family Weekend
We were in town with our three young adult kids for the weekend. We prefer renting a house with living space rather than having separate hotel rooms when we travel. The house had plenty of room for five adults not just in the sleeping space, but also to hang out together in the living area and kitchen. The house has all the charm of a 100+ year old farmhouse, but modernized for comfort and safety. Pleasantly surprised with the modern windows, electrical and plumbing. The only caution would be if you have grandparents or someone with mobility issues, the stairs are steep and narrow. If our youngest chooses OSU, we will be checking for availability of this property for future visits!!

Cozy Home away from Home
We decided last minute to cancel our hotel rooms and choose a home instead for a couple of nights during the high school basketball tournament at Gil Coliseum. The home was comfortable for the 5 of us adults. We played games at the kitchen table after dinner, relaxed in the living room enjoying our wine, conversation, and lots of laughs. Great family time! We will ALWAYS choose a home over hotel stays. MUCH better experience.

Perfect place to stay…walkable to OSU campus, Reser stadium and many more places. Quick drive to grocery store and downtown. Very quaint clean old farmhouse. Loved the front porch. However, there is a Murphy bed downstairs if we wanted to use it. Will definitely stay again.
