Great for exploring the area

A great two day stay in Kent, mainly to go for a tour on the Balfour Winery. A nice and cosy inn in the English country side, just as it says on the tin. We will be back for more exploring in the future I am sure.

I don't normally bother to write a review but I want to give deserved praise to the staff at The Goudhurst Inn: unfailingly friendly and thoughtful. My room was lovely and the food was excellent - way above standard pub fare. Well done to everyone involved.

Village gem

Superb find, comfortable and well equipped room, good food and we were looked after very well by the staff with a special shout out to Leah and Erin who's attentive service and friendly 'can do' attitude was a breath of fresh air.

We stayed in the suite and had no hot water and no heating. Manager had left and staff unable to help. Was told we had to shower in a different room then lied that they had sent maintenance. Hotel refused refund and lied.

Property was very pleasing. We had a very spacious room, good bed and I was especially pleased at the good-sized bathroom with an excellent bath! Possibly there might be a Mind Your Head sign between bedroom and bathroom.

Check in closes at 8PM SUNDAY!

There is a big error in communication for this hotel. All confirmation and info on Hotels.com says that check in is open until 10:30/11pm. My colleague turned up at 10pm sunday night and could not gain access. He had to drive around to find accommodation for the night at this time! I called the hotel the next day to be told on a Sunday check in closes at 8pm! There was nothing in our communications to advise of this!

When I got settled in to my room I noticed the cleanliness of my room wasn't up to the standard I expected at all which is unfortunate as the customer service and first glance of the room was outstanding the breakfast was delicious also. Im slightly disappointed as should the room have been clean I wouldn't of hesitated to return. Firstly I noticed the bath had a chalky residue so I rinsed it thoroughly before using then noticed there was dirt left on the floor beside the sink, the toilet had remains from the last guest, dirt and hair on the shelves and window sill and dirt left by the toilet roll beside the toilet
