"Check in was problematic. Although I'd booked using an Amex through Expedia, the hotel does not actually take this method of payment. This led to an embarrassing situation when my alternative card could not be accepted by their system. Luckily a separate terminal appeared and I was able to pay but all round, a poor check in experience which left me embarrassed in front of my partner."

"We loved our stay at Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa. Loved being able to use the spa facilities and the room was modern and cosy with a selection of teas, coffees and shortbread. The hotel is good walking distance into Newquay town and the route via the golf course is lovely. The restaurant offers great views of Fistral Beach. They have a cute photo booth just by the elevator which was a nice touch. Only thing I would say is the heating was whacked up for winter so the room was boiling but luckily there was a fan in the wardrobe! Parking for over 24hrs wasn’t an issue for us on the main road in front of the hotel, but you may have more difficulty during peak season months. "

"The hotel sits in about the best location in Newquay, overlooking the town and the sea. The hotel itself is an imposing older building and is absolutely gorgeous inside, the room I had was a great size with a very comfortable bed. All the staff are very friendly and amazing with nothing too much trouble for them to sort out. This is the first time I've stayed here but it won't be the last."

"We stayed at this incredible house for my 50th birthday, it was a gathering of adults children and teens. The location is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the Gannel and Crantock, which changes constantly throughout the day. The house is modern and luxurious with all "high end", "high-tech"fixtures and fittings and is beautifully decorated and well equipped. We were a group of 13 and also held a gathering on the Saturday with an additional 10 guests, there was plenty of room, crockery, cutlery and chairs etc, to accomodate this. I had a few questions prior to the trip and my friends also contacted Anne a few times regarding some birthday arrangements they had made, so Anne had 3 of us to deal with. Anne was incredibly helpful, informative and quick to respond. Its clearly a much loved property and Anne clearly wanted us to make the most of our stay. We did not leave the house except for walks, a dip in the sea and a cocktail at Lewannick Lodge which is just a 10 minute walk away. The teens were either tucked away at their end of the house, in the pool or on the beach below. The recommendations for a private chef, a yoga lesson at home and delivered surf gear and wetsuits were appreciated and we were impressed with these contacts they were professional, convenient and enhanced the stay. If you can book this unique property I wouldn't hesitate and do make sure you bag the master bedroom as the setting and view was my favourite spot in the house."
