We have been staying at the sister property for over a decade and decided to try Hotel Maria this year instead. What an exceptional experience and that comes at no surprise. The Bellone family creates a unique stay with their clean rooms, delightful staff, etc. We especially loved the partial ocean view, the Nespresso machine in the room, the Sunset Club rooftop bar and of course the delicious restaurant. "Rooms feel a bit damp even with AC on. Perhaps small dehumidifiers would help.
As for the rooms basic but nice. Small fridge with actual freezer so you can buy ice cream for later. Small ice cream and food place I don't think they have an indoor place but they have picnic tables and umbrellas.
Shower had built in bench great for getting sand from between toes. Staff was wonderful. This was our second year going. Just so you know out of state is only $12 for any of the beaches. If you walk on it's free .
Being a smoker it was nice to have chairs outside each room with a table and ashtray.
