Slice of Heaven
I loved this property. I felt like I was in a fairytale world. It was magical. Off the beaten path with gorgeous greenery and beautiful views. The studio suite that overlooks the river was breathtaking. I was mad I let my daughter and her friend take it! We were sad we didn’t stay longer. The owner was so kind and accommodating. We had a few hiccups on our end and he was super helpful. I will definitely stay here again when I go back to the Redwoods. We loved the river, the yard, the deck, and all the outdoor games the house had. We were sad to leave!! Definitely a great place to stay!

Good stay
We enjoyed this location and would book it again. The yoga studio bed was not made and had dirty sheets and there was a random dirty sock in the master bedroom and the dehumidifier had overflows before we arrived making the floor/carpet soggy.

Perfect cozy stay
We just loved this nice little cottage on the outskirts of downtown Ferndale and short walk to town. Clean, well equipped kitchen. Tip: almost right across the street is a discrete entrance to a mind blowing hike into a nature area on the hillside you look up at. Not sure what it's like during the winter but in August it was like a hidden world in there blanked it exotic vegetation as you wind up and around the trail. Only thing to know is the unit we stayed in was actually the lower floor of a two story unit, the upper was another rental that was vacant at the time we visited. We had use of the BBQ which worked nice but is on the deck of the upper unit which might feel a bit awkward if there are guests in the upper unit...but I guess just introduce yourself and make some new friends! Or offer to grill their dinner for them while you're at it! The firepit out in the yard was great plus too.

Perfect property to enjoy the Smith River!
Great place and as described/photographed! Perfect vacation home on Smith River with beautiful house, backyard and firepit. The river is accessible from the backyard, by a steep little trek. The main house and small guest house are both beautiful and equipped with everything you need including kitchen utensils, games, massage chairs, and even marshmallow roasting sticks. Extremely clean and in excellent condition. Comfortable beds and plenty of linens etc. Clear instructions and very quick responses from Kyle, the property manager. Will definitely stay here again!

Great stay!
We had a wonderful stay. There was plenty of room for everyone in our group to sleep. We loved being right on the river backing up to it and the trees. We also enjoyed the fire pit area. The house had everything we needed. The only disappointment was that there wasn’t any gas in the BBQ and we couldn’t grill one night and it was too late to drive, but very minor issue. Thanks for a great stay! We would come back.

Wonderful property by the river
We loved this place- nicely renovated, lots of games, well stocked kitchen, and good location close to Crescent City and the Redwoods. My Mom was already trying to organize a return trip before we departed!

Comfortable and Beautiful Property
One of the main highlights of our road trip in the area was this comfortable, well appointed, and beautiful property. Directions to the property were easy to follow, check-in seamless, and Kyle promptly answered any questions I had. Something we appreciated were the many spaces to spread out and enjoy. The main house is very homey and comfortable. It has lots of light, excellent linens, and a wonderfully stocked kitchen to use. There is a large verandah, an outdoor dining table, small hot tub, and firepit with chairs. Next to the main house is the one bedroom suite which is also beautifully furnished and has a large deck with lounge chairs. Behind the main house is the "yoga hut". It has an additional single bed or just a quiet space for meditation, prayer, reflection, stretching. We found the environment incredibly peaceful. We spent hours reading, playing games, and swimming in the river. The river can be accessed by the property and a little ways down river, we found a good depth for swimming. There is a steady current, so please be aware of your swimming abilities. The Smith River is gorgeous. From this property, we drove to other swimming spots, as well as walks in the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park. Everything we wanted to do was within 15 - 30 minutes away. From throw blankets, to dining areas that seat a large family, to a bookshelf with games and books, this property had many small touches of home.
