Hikers Paradise! You have three amazing trails all walking distance from the house. Over 5,000 acres of state game land right out the front door.
Devils Hole Trail:
Located within State Game Lands 221 in Cresco, Devil’s Hole Trail is as mysterious as the name suggests. The trail leads along Devil’s Hole Creek, which boasts beautiful waterfalls. Make your way through the thick rhododendron bushes and dense forests. You’ll eventually come to the crumbling walls and ornate fireplaces at Devil’s Hole Ruins. No one knows the story behind the ruins, but local legends suggest that it could have been a speakeasy, an old ski lodge, or an abandoned home. Devil’s Hole Trail is a 3.1-mile out and back trail. It is moderately difficult and unmarked. The trail crosses the creek multiple times, so wear shoes that can get wet.
Parking is available in the State Game Lands lot off of Devil’s Hole Road.
Kurmes Preserve:
The Pocono Heritage Land Trust manages the Kurmes Preserve, a 400-acre property in Cresco. The preserve is home to trails that are perfect for hiking or biking through the woods.
Paradise Valley Road divides the preserve into two sections. The northern section is larger and features a 1.9-mile loop trail. It encompasses thick forests and vernal pools, and the rhododendrons and mountain laurel create stunning views when they’re in bloom. It’s also a popular spot for fishing. Access to the northern section is available on Devils Hole Road.
Fieldstone Farm Preserve:
Take a hike to the old stone farmhouse at Fieldstone Farm Preserve in Cresco. The Pocono Heritage Land Trust manages this 52-acre property. In addition to the old house, you’ll also come across peaceful forests, bubbling springs, and serene wetlands. Tank Creek runs through Fieldstone Farm Preserve, making it a popular spot for fishing. It’s also home to two ponds.
Quick drive from NYC and Philly. Both under 2 hours!
Pets:
-Pets are allowed but there is a fee of $75. per pet which will be applied after booking.
-Guests will be held responsible for any and all damage done by pets during their stay.
-Guests are required to pick up dog waste into a waste bag.
-Guests are responsible to wipe down the dog & dog feet when entering the house and keep the dogs off the furniture.
-Guests are required to have pets trained to go outside vs. using pee pads indoors.
Quiet Hours after 10pm or before 8am!
-Noise Monitors are installed that will send notification when at 80 decibels.
-No Smoking inside the House or drugs of any kind!
-No Fireworks anywhere on the property! $500 fine for any fireworks used on the property.
- No events, parties, or large gatherings.
-No Confetti or Glitter inside or outside the house! Confetti or Glitter being used will result in additional cleaning fees!
-No items should be taped to the wall or ceiling. Tape on wall will result in additional cleaning fees or charges as it will remove paint.
- Parking is limited to the driveway only. 6 Cars Max!
- Self check in with a smart lock. Code to be issued by hosts the day of
check-in
Propane Tanks:
- Host provides propane tanks for the BBQ grill and gas fire pit but we do not guarantee they'll be filled.
-Guest’s are responsible to refill the propane tanks if required. Refills are available at the nearby Tractor Supply Co, Rite Aid, Lowe's or Walmart. Please ensure propane valves are turned off after use of grill or fire pit
-Host provides a few trash bags and paper towels but large groups may be required to provide their own trash bags and paper towels if they go through what is provided.
- Please pick up any trash outside the home from your stay (deck, fire pit,
Pool area.)
- Do not take any indoor furniture outside.
- Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. No feminine products, napkins, rags, etc. should be flushed at any time. Please no food down the sink drain.
