Lapwing is located on the Portnellan Estate and offers tasteful 4 star self catering accommodation sleeping up to 2 people within a beautifully furnished and equipped Highland chalet with bathroom and open plan living, dining and kitchen area.

The bedroom is cosy with a king sized double and built in mirrored wardrobes. A fitted kitchen with all mod cons including dishwasher, oven/ ceramic hob, microwave and an open plan living/dining area. The bathroom is equipped with a full size bath, bidet and twin sinks.

Step from this area through a sliding patio door onto a private balcony with garden furniture and a spectacular view of the rugged and dramatic mountains of Glen Dochart. Leading from your chalet is a spectacular walk along the old dismantled railway line along the lochside where you can take in the 14th century castle ruin on Loch Dochart. Gaze to your left and the iconic mountain of Ben More rises with the mountain river flowing through your back garden.

The chalet is equipped with a LCD TV, Blu Ray DVD, SKY TV. Wi-Fi is available free of charge as well as Weber BBQ hire. There is even an onsite visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat from a farm locally for sale (perfect for a BBQ or home cooking), Lucy's homemade meals should you not wish not to cook for yourself of an evening, local information, a varied selection of board games and DVDs.

Situated in the heart of the central Highlands of Scotland with spectacular glen and mountain views all around Lapwing's setting is magnificent where a true highland landscape awaits you and it is often complimented on the abundance of bird and wild life that can be regularly seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the property.

The Portnellan Estate has been privately owned by the same family for nearly 40 years and offers fantastic facilities including fresh run wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, mountain bikes with plenty of trails on and off road for all abilities, a games room with table tennis, table football, pool table and a small gym. Canadian canoes, kayaks and rowing boats are free to use on the river and loch. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged.

Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.
