Centrally located for Snowdonia, Harlech, Portmeirion even Caernarfon. Great beaches and walking on the doorstep. The cottage is immaculately clean, cosy and well equipped, all fitted out to a high standard. The gardens of the farm are absolutely beautiful and guests are welcome to stroll around. The chickens are extremely friendly as are the sheep! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Our week at the beginning of October in our favourite cottage in Snowdonia was cancelled due to local lockdown. We were very disappointed but after a very helpful lady called Nina helped me I managed to find the cancellation at Gell Cottage. When we arrived we were surprised that it was a lot bigger than it looked on the photographs. The whole place was immaculate and although my husband and I have been isolating since the beginning of the Covid situation I felt quite at ease when I realised how clean Gell Cottage was in every way. The bed was comfortable as was the leather sitting room furniture. All was very well equipped, kitchen and bathrooms, plenty of towels, tea towels and all the cleaning equipment in plentiful supply. I have arthritis and need a bath every day, the bath was perfect, deep and long enough. The heating worked well and I didn't need the throw I had taken just in case. As the cottage was next to the road we were worried it was going to be noisy, the walls are so thick that you couldn't hear the traffic which was light anyway. The gardens are lovely and we also walked in the fields owned by the property. Walks from the farm are glorious too. We can highly recommend Gell Cottage. A beautifully presented and brilliantly equipped (despite covid restrictions) cottage, it was lovely to stay here. The owners are onsite and very friendly. Located within 30 minutes of several castles, nice beaches and some great walking. It's a little further to the likes of Snowdon Mountain railway and Conwy. You do need to drive to get out to restaurants, it's at least a mile into the village. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This is our second stay at Gell Cottage and we hope to return.
This is our second stay at Gell Cottage and we hope to return. We love the fact that the cottage is situated within a beautiful garden. The cottage is all on the ground floor (with parking just outside) makes it very accessible for both living and loading / unloading, an important factor for us. The cottage itself is really well designed with spacious living space, a modern kitchen and bath/shower rooms and comfortable bedrooms. The on site owners, while being unobtrusive, are very friendly and helpful. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Well equipped. Wi Fi was a problem, previous guests had used up the monthly quota, we had to either sit in the car or go to Criccieth to get online, not good! On the whole an excellent holiday, we will be returning.

Wonderful cottage in superb location, the owners have obviously dedicated themselves to the exquisite restoration of the buildings & gardens it is amazing to see all they have achieved. We appreciated the lovely friendly welcome we received & were also blessed with several days of lovely weather. We are keen outdoor enthusiasts & enjoy walking in the hills & along the coastline a combination to lift the spirits. We are also partial to a good meal & a few drinks and were spoilt for choice around Criccieth. We especially liked the Goat Inn & the Poachers restaurant both of which were excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage & would like to return in the not to distant future. Doreen & Rob

Gell cottage is a perfect place to chill out and relax.
Gell cottage is a perfect place to chill out and relax. There are a number of nice places to eat and drink locally but they are a drive away. There are some beautiful walks and places to visit on the peninsula. The milk and welsh cakes on arrival were a nice touch but there isn't anywhere nearby that you could get emergency food for the day you arrive particularly at the weekend so come prepared. It didn't matter about the rain as the area is so picturesque and we had come prepared with walking kit and water proofs.

Gell Cottage was a lovely characterful retreat in attractive countryside and only a few minutes drive from the coast at Criccieth where good restaurants and amenities are available. We were easily able to tour the towns, castles and coasts from the location passing through the wonderful countryside of the Snowdonia area The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has everything needed for a relaxing break. It is a credit to its owners who made us very welcome.

Gell Cottage is beautiful, one of the best appointed cottages we have ever stayed in, in over 30 years of cottages holidays. Despite some bad weather, we were warm and comfortable. The location was good, quiet and secluded, but close to the facilities of Criccieth and Porthmadog, Snowdonia and the coast.

There were three of us, my wife and I and my sister - we had an excellent week at Gell Cottage, one small detail though, we found the double bed somewhat uncomfortable, so my wife used the single bed, sharing the twin room with my sister, and I slept in the double bed - perhaps a comfortable (queen size) bed would have made our stay perfect, although we were aware when booking that the bed was double size

Gell cottage is a true gem.
Gell cottage is a true gem..comfortable ,cosy, well equipped and spotless in wonderful surroundings. The friendly owners were on site if you needed anything but never intrusive. The area is rich with historic Castles .. Gardens.. Scenic train rides.. little quiet beaches and also some very large ones . Criccieth has lots of places to eat and drink , and some gift shops too. There are at least 3 big supermarkets just a few miles away in Portmadoc and plenty of smaller shops to browse. An excellent holiday destination.

A very enjoyable one week stay at Gell Cottage.
A very enjoyable one week stay at Gell Cottage. A comfortable, clean, exceptionally well furnished cottage on one level which is disability friendly. A car is a must as the cottage is just over one mile from Criccieth. Porthmadog, Llanberis, and the Llyn Peninsular are all within easy reach. Snowdon and Anglesey are just a hours drive away. Plenty of sandy beaches within easy reach of the cottage. A wide variety of self guided walks are available in the Snowdonia National Park to suit all levels of competency. On rainy days there are a number of attractions to choose from including the Electric Mountain, Slate Mountain, Welsh Highland Railway and Portmeirion which are all close by. Overall a cottage holiday to remember for many years to come and we will certainly return again in the future.
