One of a kind private ocean front, beach, cave, 1 bedroom private cottage gem.

This new VRBO one of a kind historic ocean property with south facing view, 2 West Coast beaches and steps to unique and surprise cave and inlet property offers a private and well appointed newly renovated cottage. Views of Salt Spring Island and a spectacular south facing Maple Bay experience are just the beginning. A walk to the waters edge opens up a whole new universe.
This newly renovated cottage features your own private spacious outdoor wrap-around deck to enjoy fresh morning coffee or afternoons with locally produced wine or cider. While your vacation could easily be enjoyed the entire time on the property, chilling by the waters' edge or exploring star fish, crabs or the private point on the beach for yoga or a meditation a 5 minute walk, paddle board or kayak to the buzzing Lion Rampant neighbourhood pub for the best burger around or custom craft beer is also an option. Trailhead entrances are abundant with easy to advanced hiking options all offer spectacular views and experience. If other activity is still on your mind pickleball courts are close by and sometimes closer than you think! Snorkelling, swimming, just chilling by the water are all options. If food is on your mind the Shipyard Pub at Maple Bay Marina is down the road and always popular. Looking for something a little more refined? The head to Genoa Bay Cafe is an exceptional experience. If you're in the mood to check out the sites and scene, local gate sales offering fresh fruit, veg, eggs and artisanal delights are common. Local vineyards and gourmet dining always a delight. On Saturday the 100 year old + Duncan Farmers Market is truly an experience of the senses. Taste, test and get your jingle jangling with upbeat live and familiar music by local musicians.
The cottage is 850 square feet with 1 separate bedroom, comfortable living room surrounded by large windows and nature, a smart tv, internet, and a well appointed new kitchen and bathroom. The cottage is complimented by a large outdoor wrap-around deck with spectacular views for morning breakfast and fresh coffee as well as relaxed easy evenings. Starfish, sea lions, seals, otters, deer, fawns, bald eagles , ospreys, herons hawks and humming birds are your hosts. If you are lucky a local pod of orcas may show up to entertain.

Perfect Place For Relaxation & Exploration
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The cottage had everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation. We loved that this place is in a secluded waterfront location, bit also centrally located so that you can easily drive to other places on Vancouver Island.

Quiet Pleasant Setting
The cottage is a clean, quiet, pleasant space with all the basic needs for travelers. It is an excellent location from which to explore the many worthwhile sights and activities in south Vancouver Island. Paul was more than gracious as host with many suggested options for our time there. He not only allowed us to arrive well before the published check-in time but actually helped us get settled in with a rental car. This was very welcoming and made for an easy entry for us.

Great Location!
Great location! Quiet stay at the bay with beautiful hiking trails close by. Easy drive to many activities. We enjoyed the historical walk of the murals in Chemanis, water activities on Cowichin lake and wonderful food on Genoa Bay. Ending each day overlooking Maple Bay in the cozy cabin was perfect.

Great location! Great host!
We just finished our stay at the cabin and had an enjoyable stay. Paul, the host, was more than helpful in revealing unique local restaurants and interesting sites. He was very helpful and responsive the entire time, and yet respected our privacy. The cabin offers waterfront access - you can even go for an ocean dip - and there are comfortable Adirondack chairs by the water. The covered deck around the cabin was a favorite. Location is within 15 minute drive of Duncan, so all the amenities are within reach. It is also very quiet, except for the abundance of birds singing their songs. It was a very nice retreat.

Lovely stay on a beautiful oceanfront property
We had a great experience staying at this little cabin, perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Paul and Sally were wonderful hosts, allowing us privacy but also providing us with interesting information about the area and some great recommendations for local restaurants and hiking trails. The property's ocean access is very nice and we enjoyed using the kayak and SUP they have available for guest use. There is also a very nice public beach just a short walk down the road along with a great pub.

Charming piece of heaven
Most charming cottage which was very comfortable for the 2 of us. Paul was an easily accessible host yet still provided us our privacy. The check in was easy & there were thoughtfully provided snacks & drinks waiting us when we arrived. Paul had amazing suggestions for things to see & places to eat. The ocean was easy to walk down to & I spent a lot of time reading in the comfy Adirondack chair overlooking the ocean. It was a wonderful vacation!

Highly recommend Maple Bay guest cottage
My wife and I stayed in this lovely cottage overlooking Maple Bay for seven nights in early August 2022. For two guests this is a lovely location, great hosts that could not have been more helpful. We swam off the rocky shoreline every day and made use of the kayak , paddling board etc. And the local bar really is just a 10 minute walk! Highly recommend.

Maple Bay in July
The cottage is well situated in a beautiful part of Maple Bay. It's well equipped and very clean. The amenities were as advertised. The host was friendly and approachable. We stayed during a very hot period with temperatures above 30.C. Fans were supplied but an airconditioner would have been welcomed.. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.
