"Don't let the tired facade put you off, the room was clean and in good condition. Air conditioning was cold and the shower was hot and good pressure. The bed was comfy and the location is perfect, right next to the train station. Don't judge a book by it's cover!"
"Very friendly reception from all staff. Information offered for enjoyjng night out in town. Tasty breakfast options. Plentiful, secure parking in locked garage at rear of property. Comfortable, spacious family room."
"Eclectic hotel well located just a short walk from the main square. Our room was very comfortable and had a luxurious bathroom. No closet (but we didn’t need one)."
"Pleasant stay for a last minute booking. Friendly service, and great breakfast. Confortable room too. Quite expensive compared to same brand hotel in St Etienne."
"On our penultimate day of a short jaunt through the Ardennes, we had an enjoyable time in Montherme, visiting the Roc la Tour also know as the Castle of the Devil! There was no chance of taking a boat trip on the river as everything seemed to have closed down, which was a shame as the boat was moored there and the timetable suggested it should have been going."
"The chalet was clean, although small, there was sufficient space for our motorcycle gear and space outside to leave luggage. The area around the lake is good for walking and due to it being end of season, very quiet throughout the day and night. The breakfast service was poor and does not represent good value. The first day there were no bowls for creals and no clean tea mugs. On the second day we were the only two diners. The cleaners were in the room drinking coffee when we arrived so there...
"We had a brilliant stay with kind and generous host Etienne. A lovely relaxed village and Etienne made us feel very welcome with his warm hospitality and excellent cuisine - highly recommend! Beautiful garden and if you value tranquillity, a genuine sense of ' bon vivant' then book yourselves dinner and a room, and take a walk around Bourseigne - Vielle. No fancy frills just genuine warmth and a sense of fun and a life well lived. "
"If you want a terrible night sleep, stay here.
The hotel was empty but I was put in the room next to reception which is honestly terrible unless you don't want to sleep.
There is a big gap between the floor and the door so you might as well just leave the door open at this stage.
When I asked if I could be moved to another room, I was told I would have to pay extra to upgrade.
If a hotel can't provide the basics of a quiet room, it doesn't meet its primary function.

"Relaxing hotel with all the facilities. Lovely outdoor pool with a good temperature. Great restaurant. Good spot for visiting the Belgian breweries !"
"We enjoyed the lake view but not so much the fact that it is indeed a village and not a hotel and sometimes visitors might book a 2-night stay to celebrate and spoil the otherwise quiet surroundings."
"The staff were pre-occupied by a wedding, no bar or restaurant available. We understand the diversion, but we were still paying guests!
Hotel is tired and needs some TLC to get it back to the advertised level."

The area around the lake is good for walking and due to it being end of season, very quiet throughout the day and night. The breakfast service was poor and does not represent good value. The first day there were no bowls for creals and no clean tea mugs. On the second day we were the only two diners. The cleaners were in the room drinking coffee when we arrived so there was not enough coffee left. I asked for more, they gave us a flask, locked the service room and left. They hadn't made more coffee but simply topped up the flask with water so the last bit we had was undrinkable. We then realised they had locked away the breads and croissants, leaving us nothing to eat. I told the office about this and as we had only eaten half a breakfast I asked for a refund of one but this was refused. We had a long ride that day and wanted a good start to the day, not to pay for the cleaners' breakfast. Overall the stay was good and I recommend it to others but advise against having the breakfast. "The apartments were fantastic, a real sense of quality, and even with other rooms around you it felt very private. We opted for a lake view and I'm so glad we did - with panoramic views of the lake from large glass windows/doors. The space itself was excellent with a large living area and a small but useful kitchen area. The accommodation is ideally located for Natura Parc leisure facilities - and whilst they are different organisations it would be good if they had better communication/links with each other. For example we had to depart our room for 11am whereas Natura Parc does not open until 1pm. As it was raining we decided to drive on to our next location rather than wait around for 2 hours. Had Natura Parc opened earlier we would have gone there. Whilst this is not the fault of the accommodation it would have been useful if you could check out later on or if there was somewhere you could eat lunch to pass the time until Natura Parc opened."
