The Lighting makes it difficult to navigate in the evening as the light will only stay on for 60 seconds which is not quite enough to make it up four flights of stairs. The fifth floor apartment is incredibly warm and does not have access to a bathroom."

"A well maintained, beautiful house. The yard is not large but has a nice swimming pool and a gorgeous old tree that provides excellent shade from the hot sun. The hosts are thoughtful, responsive and nice. They made efforts to help us in every possible way. We had a very nice vacation there."

Alen was a very welcoming host and made sure we were very comfortable - arrived to find a gorgeous homemade fruit tart in the fridge, along with some other treats! Accommodation very clean and spacious with excellent aircon in all rooms. Kitchen and BBQ area fully equipped with everything you'd need to self-cater. "We had a lovely time staying here. The facilities are exactly as described and provide for a wonderful break. The rooms are comfortable and clean with everything you could need while away from home. The outside space is exceptional with a wonderful private pool, table tennis, barbeque and separate garden. Mladen and Adriana were superb hosts. "I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. I wanted to stay in Piran but choose this hotel initially for two reasons: (a) it was walking distance along a promenade to Piran and offered free parking; and (b) it would be staying in a slice of history as the form of the hotel (though not the renovated interiors) harked back to the more brutalist days of the Yugoslav Republic. Then I got there - the staff were unfailingly lovely; the room was big (after several days of tiny rooms); each room has an expansive sea view; the breakfast was out of this world; and it was a beautiful promenade in front of the hotel along the sea. It was really a singular experience and one of the reasons that Piran was a highlight of the trip. My mother (70 yo) felt very poorly on the last night of the trip and was quite ill during the night. As we didn't have to leave to go to the airport until 4pm, I requested a late-check out. Not only did they give my mother the room until 4pm, but they didn't accept extra payment for the additional time in the room. Honestly I can't recommend this hotel more highly!"

Great central location in beautifully restored property

"The property is located in a small neighborhood below Beram just outside Pazin. Its central location provides easy access to hill towns and seaside areas of Istria as well as day trips to explore Slovenia and Trieste. The property manager lives in the neighborhood and always immediately responded to our questions or assistance requests. We arrived mid-September just as the weather became unseasonably cold. As a result, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very chilly as they are not heated. The property description should state that only the common areas are heated & cooled. While the accommodations are very good we would suggest the following to make renters stay even more comfortable: written instructions for operating kitchen appliances (microwave, stove, dishwasher operation is not self-evident); wifi is weak - install boosters; bedrooms need more clothes hangers in armoires (2 per room insufficient); add clothes hooks in bedrooms particularly in bedroom with only shelves in armour; add towel hooks in bathrooms (1 small hook in each is insufficient); wooden sticks/bars to hold shutters open to prevent banging and closing with the wind. We had numerous wasps in the kitchen - their entry point should be found and closed - the property manager stated that they probably entered when we opened the kitchen door and although we were careful and watched this was not our experience. We hope these suggestions are found to help make an excellent rental even better. "

Grand Park Hotel Rovinj by Maistra Collection

"We so enjoyed our stay at Grand Hotel Rovinj. It’s a very special hotel and really such a pleasure to be there. The hotel is next to a lovely pine filled park where you can cycle and swim from Rocky beaches. The facilities of the hotel are very luxurious from hot towels in the gym, the golf cart that took us to the tennis centre, and Hannah the hawk who sees off the seagulls from the infinity pool! Gym, tennis centre, spa and pools are all fantastic and well equipped. The rooms are very quiet and restful. We wanted to spend more time that we did just hanging out on the balcony. The food is generally good and Katrina’s the sandwich bar is a great place for a pitstop. The service is unparalleled. We were looked after so well by all the staff (and kept receiving lovely gifts throughout our stay). And the view! You can’t beat it. We will be back! "
