"A beautiful heritage estate of large proportions and character. The history was fascinating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were superb. A beautiful country setting with beautiful views of the river and farmland. Well equipped rooms, with all appliances you could ever need. Rooms were cosy and warm. We loved using the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend and I would love to stay here again, given the opportunity."

"We loved the house for it's space and location. It's really well equipped with very comfortable beds. Plenty of room for three families with teenagers. The games room and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed! Huge kitchen to socialise and cook easily in. Cosy lounge for chilling out. Lovely to have dog bed, bowls, treats etc provided. We enjoyed being able to stroll around Matlock. It was perfect, and we hope to return! "

We were very pleased with the little extras that the owners have available like tea & coffee. 40 mins from Alton Towers was very handy with a Tesco enroute so we could get any bits we needed. "We’ve stayed in the other property and that seemed to be abit more updated than this one. It advertised as having internet but as property is so remote and thick cottage stone we couldn’t get any internet. Also kitchen area may be needs some updating. All in all had a lovely time. "
