The Western Winnie ~ Horses + Sunsets on a Ranch! Great vibe w/ string lights!

Howdy! Our 35-foot Winnebago Journey (aka The Western Winnie) is a unique getaway in the country, yet just 5.5 miles from historic downtown McKinney. Situated on a 20-acre working horse ranch, the outdoor space offers close-up views of the horses (you're just a few feet from the fence line!), panoramic sunsets, yard games, ambient string lighting, shade from a 50 year-old oak tree, and all-around relaxation! The interior is fully stocked and incredibly comfortable.

The space is perfectly designed for two to four adults or a small family. It’s great for a romantic getaway, staycation, or the ideal launching pad for your visit to McKinney and surrounding areas. The space has a queen bed in the bedroom, a couch that converts to a queen bed (plus a 3 inch memory foam topper), and a dining booth that converts to a daybed (suitable for children).

We are located 10 minutes from historic downtown McKinney which has some of the best shopping and dining in the DFW metroplex. Downtown is incredibly walkable and somewhere you can easily spend an entire day, and then some. We provide a great selection of brochures and guides to help acquaint you with everything McKinney has to offer.

Need wifi for work or play? We've got you covered (and even faster fiber internet coming around October!). Lounge back and watch a movie, stream shows, or set up office in the dining area. TV's in the living room and bedroom. The entire RV runs through a surge protector, ensuring your electronics are safe. Need a monitor to hook up to? Just ask.

We lived in the RV full-time while traveling the country so take it from us, you’ll be able to cook. The kitchen is outfitted with an oven/stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer w/ ice maker, basic spices and EVOO, basic cooking utensils and cookware, and a Keurig coffee machine with assorted coffee, teas and hot cocoa, along with cream and sugar. We have taken care to provide the essentials for your stay with us in the kitchen and bathroom.

The water running into the RV is filtered using a best-in-class 3-stage water filtration system by ClearSource. It filters the water down to the virus-level, ensuring the water you use is top-quality. Water out of the drinking faucet in the kitchen is filtered once more.

Guests will appreciate the COLD AC from a brand new (Aug '23) residential central AC unit. For those colder days, the unit has central heat as well.

The outdoor space is ready for grillin’ and chillin’. There are multiple sitting areas all nestled under a canopy of string lights. The outdoor space includes lounge seating, a bistro set, a picnic table, propane grill, fire-pit, a Bluetooth speaker, and yard games!

The yard games include corn-hole (bags), jumbo Connect 4, life-size Jenga, Yardzee (jumbo Yahtzee), a disc golf basket, and a ring toss game.

The fire pit will be prepped with a starter log, kindling, and firewood when you arrive - literally "ready to light"! Firewood is included!

Guests have full and private access to the RV and accompanying outdoor space. Guests are welcome to responsibly self-tour the ranch. Private gated entrance. No one can access the property without a remote or gate code. Come and go as you please, although we ask you limit the hootin' and hollerin' between 10pm and 7am.

The RV and space is located alongside the barn and folks are in and out of the property daily to tend to their horses. We have free range chickens who may stop by to say hello... No roosters so don't worry about a 3AM wake-up!

Although we are in a rural area, our property is on a local thoroughfare so there is road noise during the day. After 9pm it’s generally very quiet. We have provided a sound machine in the bedroom to minimize any inconvenience.

If you are traveling with your horse(s), layover boarding is available. Private pasture with adjoining stall. Please message to discuss further.

We provide self check-in. If desired, we can provide a walk-through of the RV. We live in the house on the property and work from home, so we are typically available if you need anything.

One of the best VRBO listings!
We had the greatest time staying at the ranch. What a great view, excellent accommodations, super clean and comfortable interior. The view of the horses at the outdoor seating were the perfect touch! Would definitely recommend!

Quiet view
We were in town to see family so didn’t get to spend the time enjoying the Winnie. The view is beautiful overlooking gently rolling pastures with horses and cattle. In the morning we woke to the contented murmuring of chickens grazing and at night drifted off to the sounds of grazing livestock and the occasional faint vibration of ecstatic equine zoomies through the open window. Loved it!

Trip to visit granddaughter
Looking for a unique vacation rental, look no further. A large Winnebago motorhome parked next to a pasture, with horses, cows and chickens to entertain you. Motorhome is very clean, with a very comfortable bed and the sofa converts to a bed as well. Weather was bitterly cold during our visit and Tim and Amanda made sure that any issues that came up were immediately handled. Traveling with children, they will love this experience. We have already recommended this to 2 young families who live in Dallas as a perfect weekend getaway. We have family in Dallas, and we won't stay anywhere else when we visit. Fred & Stacey
