"We were disappointed when we arrived because the house hadn’t been heated. It was 14 degrees and we had to spend the evening in the kitchen with our coats on to keep warm. It wasn’t obvious how to change the heating so it reached 16 degrees maximum and was absolutely freezing at night. We have a 3 month old baby so I spent the night worrying he was too cold. The next day my husband did manage to fix the heating only to find out the pool wasn’t heated much to the kids disappointment. The...

"We booked the micro cabin for 2 adults and 2 kids, in the description they say the sofa was a pull out this is not the case it's a sofa where you click the back down and it was certainly not big enough for our 2 children. The place was not cleaned properly, which was disappointing and the amount of flies we had to put up with in the cabin was horrendous. The small window to the bedroom area was cracked which I would think should be repaired. For you you pay it was definitely disappointing."

"The lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean and pretty and everything you could need. However what made our holiday absolutely perfect was the garden the lodge is set in. Stunningly beautiful, magical grounds that you could see from all sides of the lodge. With a folly perfect for an outdoor fire and BBQ. Central to all of the North East and Durham attractions. "It was a nice hotel, parking is very limited, at night they lock the car park door but you climb all the stairs with your bags to find out. You then have to exit the car park and walk up the street, there isn't a bell or sign to warn you. Bedrooms are also a small trek using two lifts from reception. Rooms and bathrooms are nice and cery well equipped. Wifi is very good too. Bar is nice, staff are exceptionally friendly and food is tasty. "

"Stayed at this hotel before, tucked out of the way but close enough to the local shops and pubs/Restaurants. staff were pleasant andcattentive, nice spacious comfy room, Breakfast was clean and tasty with a wide choice, all in all a good stay, my only slight negative is the parking, spaces are limited, however if people parked sensibly and not selfishly , there would be ample space ."

Best curtains ever! Lovely service and breakfast.

"The service was immaculate, from the friendly welcome to the swift taxi at checkout. The room was well appointed. and the whole hotel was pleasant. The pool and facilities were lovely. What we noticed most of all was how restful it was, the staff were really quiet, we couldn't hear the children in the next room, but above all the curtains were incredibly effective: completely dark; this is a first for me in a hotel! We got upgraded to a river view for free, but it's probably work what you'd pay. Also, totally epic breakfast!"
