About our Cottage!
At 1,000 square feet and two spacious bedrooms, you will have plenty of space to make yourself at home! Our cottage is located in Melrose on Avenue of the Oaks just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. This unit has gorgeous views of the beach from the screened in porch.
Each of the bedrooms has two queen beds a private bath. The kitchen has a glass-top stove, oven, large refrigerator, garbage disposal, toaster, standard coffeemaker, Keurig coffeemaker, dishwasher, and a microwave. It is well-appointed with pots and pans, an electric griddle, basic kitchen utensils, and barware. A full-size washer and dryer are located within the pantry. The dining area includes a large table with seating for six and three bar stools. The porch has a table for four with addition chairs for relaxing and enjoying a morning cup of coffee or evening libation!

This unit includes a 4 passenger golf cart that is provided by Daufuskie Life. The cart will be delivered to your house!
This unit comes stocked with starter supplies, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, hand soap, 1 roll of paper towels, 3 trash bags, 3 dishwashing pods, dish soap, and 3 laundry pods.
All linens and bath towels are provided.
Beach chairs are provided.
About the Melrose Cottages
Located directly on the beautiful Daufuskie Island Melrose beach, the cottage is centrally located and a quick golf cart ride to the School Grounds Coffee shop, Daufuskie Island Distillery, D'Fuskies Eatery and Bar, and the Old Daufuskie Crab Company. Daufuskie Blues, The Iron Fish Art Gallery, and our Historical Museum are also just minutes away!
Note: The Melrose Resort is currently closed, and its restaurant and golf course are not available at this time. Please do not trespass on the resort property or old buildings.
Important Info about Getting Around Daufuskie Island
(This part is super important!) Daufuskie is a bridgeless island and you cannot bring your car. This means more planning and preparation on your part, but it’s also why Daufuskie is so undeveloped and special! Guests must arrive by ferry or water taxi and secure ground transportation from the arrival dock on Daufuskie to the cottage.
There is a small general store on the island for essentials, however, it is highly recommended that you bring food over with you or order grocery delivery. There are restaurants on the Island - Old Daufuskie Crab Company, D'Fuskies, and Frye's Chicken Shack.

Ground transportation:
Once you arrive on Daufuskie Island, ground transit is required to transport you and your luggage from the ferry landing to the unit and from the unit back to the ferry landing upon checkout. Golf carts cannot be used to transport luggage.
Contact Daufuskie Transit for transportation from the dock to the cottage.
Grocery delivery service:
There are no grocery stores on the island. For grocery service, contact Low Country Grocery Runner. They will purchase your groceries and put them on the ferry you take to Daufuskie.

The cost of ferry tickets, additional golf cart rental/upgrade, grocery delivery, and ground transportation are separate fees and must be reserved by the guest.
House rules
• Check-in: After 4:00 PM | Checkout: 10:00 AM
• The unit will be self-check-in with a door keypad. Instructions will be emailed prior to your arrival.
• No smoking in the unit
• No parties or events whatsoever.
• Primary guest must be 25.
• Observe general house of quiet time
• No more than six adult occupants.
• Please dispose of all trash in the bins outside of the cottage
