Great place close to town

Very clean and comfortable within walking distance to the main street of Daylesford. Great size yard, ideal for couples with dog/s.

Wonderful cottage stay

Very comfortable accommodation for 2 people. Welcome bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. Home is fully self contained and caters well for dogs. Easy10 minute walk to town.

wonderful little cottage

very suitable for people with dogs, property is not fenced but there is a dog yard that is fenced at the front of the property, the mud room is a stand out, would love to make it my yearly holiday

Quiet, idyllic getaway

This cute little cottage is perfect for a couple or solo trip, house was cosy and has a decently stocked kitchen with all the basics you’d need. Really comfy bed, it was lovely having a slow morning (due to a generous midday check out) relaxing and watching the birds in the backyard. Will definitely visit again! Pam was an excellent host, great communication and cottage was clean and tidy.

Tara Cottage: an excellent holiday

The property is well-appointed with appropriate kitchen appliances, w-fi, etc. but for me its superlative point is the garden. An ideal space for my energetic dog to endlessly chase the ball.This is my second stay and I will definitely come back.

Tara Cottage

Having had a short break at Tara Cottage some years ago, we were happy to stay there again. The cottage is cosy and comfortable in a quiet area. Everything you need is supplied. Dogs are welcome. Excellent for a short, relaxing break.

The property was in a relatively quite location with only distant and faint traffic sounds. The magpies were in good voice. The spa was a welcome inclusion to help relax tired muscles. There wer no negatives from our perspective. Thank you to our hosts, we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet and pretty

This cottage was cosy and felt like we were in the country despite being a short walk from the shops and cafes of Daylesford. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the view and watching the birds. We would certainly recommend it!

Comfort and Convenience

Well appointed, clean, comfortable cottage. Good heater. Comfortable bed. Lovely view across Daylesford. Just a walk away to shopping, cafes and the lake. Nice, helpful host. Recommended!!

A Lovely Property

We stayed with our pooch at Tara Cottage and had a lovely stay. The cottage was modern inside and had everything required for a short stay. There was a nice view from the back windows of the township and Wombat Hill. The back garden was large and good for our dog to explore. Unfortunately the imitation log fire was not working, but heating provided by reverse cycle AC. Tara is in a good location - about a 10 minute stroll to the main shopping strip.

The property needs a little maintenance attention,especially the lawn and garden,however the inside was clean and inviting.It would have been good to receive more than one shampoo and conditioner for two nights and two people.

Winter getaway

We enjoyed our stay in Daylesford at Tara cottage. We travel with our dog and the amenities were good. My only criticism is that the cottage has a steep uneven set of steps to enter with a rather rickety hand rail. It had been raining and was rather muddy around the front door. I didn’t feel safe going up and down the steps to the road where our car was parked.

A hidden beauty.

It’s a bit like something out of a fairy tale: behind an impenetrable wall of plants and small trees, lies a hidden beauty. Fortunately accessible down a charming pathway. The house is just right for two people (no pets in our case). It is quiet and comfortable with a gorgeous old established garden full of rambling roses and lovely scents. And the view across the valley to Wombat Hill and the convent is perfect. We felt transported to another time, whilst having all of the modern conveniences in abundance.

Lovely cottage, close to the township. Very clean and has everything you may need for a lovely relaxing stay. My dog Banjo enjoyed his stay as well, dog bowls and treats were a nice touch to make him feel welcome.

The property was very well appointed for a short or medium length stay for two. A small area for dogs at the front is fully enclosed however the backyard is open. The location as a short walk to central Daylesford or Hepburn Springs is ideal to not need to drive much once you arrive, but a short drive and you’re in Creswick or Castlemaine. Walking Lake Daylesford was definitely a highlight. The property is an ideal base for a relaxing holiday.
