Private lakefront home w/porch & dock--fish, relax; quiet & shady

A home with plenty of shade and outdoor area to enjoy. Fish from the dock, play games on the screen porch, or BBQ at the picnic area. Plus there is a boat launch nearby. Kitchen is stocked with coffee to start your mornings off right. Plenty of room to eat or chat around the table. Three beds (king, 2 queen) to make very comfortable sleeping arrangements for six people. Check out the fish food -- fun for kids to take to the dock and watch the fish come over for a meal.

Very private, yet still close to the lovely sandy white beaches of South Walton County (approximately 20 minute drive). Or take a drive to visit the E.O.Wilson Biophilia Center, historic Eden Gardens State Park, or Alaqua Animal Refuge. There are several golf courses, scuba diving, horseback riding, and fishing charter opportunities -- all of which can be done as a day trip.

Great for a relaxing stay
We had a wonderful and relaxing experience. Property grounds are like a camping retreat, with a wonderful fire pit and picknick gazebo. The fishing dock was great. Very comfortable accommodations

We loved our stay. House was perfect size for the 5 of us. We had a few visitors (none overnight) since we were there for a funeral. The living/dining area was a perfect size and all our guests were well pleased with the amenities. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we need to return to the area.

Quiet and secluded
We really enjoyed the private setting amongst the live oaks and Spanish moss and on the water! I caught a nice largemouth bass while wading around the dock. We would definitely stay again!

We loved this stay.Everything was great. The lake out back was nice to fish in. We caught lots of fish.It was nice to hang out on the back deck.It is nicely shaded.The owners of the property were great to deal with and prompt to answer questions if you had one.Overall if your looking to relax,this is definitely a place you want to come to.Will definitely be back.

Great Experience
The house is completely modernized on the inside. The outside still needs work, especially the entrance. It needs a sidewalk to the house. I would definitely rent this house again in the future.

Close enough to town. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the quiet calmness of the deck, screened in porch and walk to the water. Walmart delivery for forgotten items was spot on. Tannin’s restaurant easily accompanied 20 for dinner after my brother's memorial service. Service and food were wonderful. We would definitely stay again, if in the area.

Winter retreat
My 3 teens and I were 1 month snow birds in this lovely home. The internet was great for school. The host was quick to respond and let us borrow additional kitchen gadgets we needed for a longer stay. We enjoyed lounging on the dock and walking the neighborhood. We were close enough to explore the beaches and amazing hiking trails. We would choose to stay here again.

Perfect quiet getaway
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lakeside cozy cabin with my family while we were in town visiting the in laws, and I must say it was an absolute delight! The cabin itself was charming and had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The lakeside location provided a serene atmosphere that allowed me to truly unwind and relax. The fishing dock was a wonderful addition, as it allowed my husband and kids to spend days enjoying the outdoors and trying their luck at catching some fish. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend this cozy cabin vacation rental to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. Can't wait to go back next time we are in town!

Cockroach infestation. Spying owners.
This property is infested with 3” long cockroaches. As other reviews state, the owners spy on you and give you no privacy. Owners refused to issue refund despite their poor management of the property.

Lake Jenny and nearby natural springs
I took my 3 kids and one of their friends for a long weekend with plans to go to the nearby natural springs. We enjoyed this lake house as much as we did the springs. The kids fished, we swam, we made s’mores in the fire pit, ate on the enclosed back porch, and watched the sun set and rise on the lake. The place is much prettier than the pictures. It’s clean and roomy, too. I look forward to staying here again when we are in the area.

Enjoyed our stay!
The owners gave excellent directions! Check in was a breeze. It was extremely cold while we were there and the owner came and checked on the water and introduced himself and checked to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed the property even with the cold. Check out instructions were very easy and it was very reasonably priced. It was also very clean! We are definitely planning a return trip!

Peaceful Getaway
As a single parent with two children 8 and 11,safety is extremely important. I felt perfectly safe during our stay. A very clean house and yard with comfortable furniture. Spent our time at the dock fishing, kayaking, and wading around in the lake when it wasn't raining. Would love to go back again soon.

After beach retreat
This was a great place to relax and unwind after several hot and sandy days at the beach. Caught a huge bass from the dock. Enjoyed the screened in porch. Not too far from Morrison Springs which was a beautiful surprise and awesome place to snorkel. Ants were outside but no problem inside or in the vehicle. Overall positive and relaxing experience.

Excellent property!
We were on the 2nd leg of a two week road trip from Michigan, and this leg was to be more relaxing. It definitely was! We had everything we could think of at our disposal and it truly felt like home. The hosts are excellent communicators and the property was very clean. Very private and yet still not far away from things to do. We will definitely stay again if we get the chance to be in that area! Thanks again!

Lakehouse Perfection! Owners Theresa and Jonas are quick to respond and close by. Defuniak Springs is a quaint little town. Be sure to try the Pub burger at Ed's and the peanut butter milkshake. Highly recommend this rental. Clean, peaceful and safe. Loved feeding the fish and turtles from the dock. Thank you for a memorable vacation. Will be back soon! :)
