Not a bad spot for what we were doing. Just needed somewhere to crash. I would Def stay here again. The beds were super comfy and nice decent pillows. Soft towels.
Was a very cute house in a cute town. Good food nearby. Would bring chairs for porch if we came back
Very easy renting this property absolutely no issues getting in and out. House was very clean. And the property manager checked on us through email several times.
Stayed there for a show at the caverns. Not too far away from venue. 25 minutes

We booked, but didnt stay
Unfortunately we did not stay at this property. Upon arrival we discovered that a window had been broken out. Not sure if it was an attempt to break in or what, but there was glass on floor and on couch.
Owner was very responsive to our text messages and put us in another property at no additional cost. The second home was very nice.
We did not stay very misleading terrible location , house is on blocks uneven floors. We walked in an walked out. I would like my money back because of this is what you guys sponsor I will no longer use Vrbo and will not recommend you to anyone

Eh…
Overall the facility was “ok.” The house is clearly very old and thus nothing in the house is level. The flooring was in very poor shape and bowing all over the place. The beds were also listed as Queens but they were Fulls. Overall, it was “eh.” Not bad but not good. For the price I paid (after fees), I’d rather just stay in a hotel.
Nice property for the cost. Appeared to be recently renovated and had great finishes throughout.
Definitely needs some maintenance, all mild inconveniences for us but others might not find them as such.
Easy check-in/out

Is it worth it?
It wasn’t the best experience, especially for the price we paid. I was expecting a 5-star experience but was left wanting. You probably will be as well. 3-star, at best, so really consider the price before renting.
I’ve been to the area several times but have never stayed in Decherd (we usually stay around Monteagle). It was Labor Day weekend 2022, so rentals filled up quickly (we booked in late July) and were quite expensive—supply/demand…I get it. However, I do not believe that the price for this rental for that weekend was justified.
You can tell that the owners have tried to fix up this old house (and have been successful in terms of decor and remodeling), but we noticed several issues: 1) The flooring is pretty bad. The flooring is really tattered around the back door and the flooring near the transition to the backroom/bathroom/laundry area is bowed causing us to trip on it many times (until we got used to it). 2) The air filter/return was disgusting—looks like it hasn’t been changed in a long time. 3) There were cobwebs in many corners throughout the house (esp upstairs). 4) The main room downstairs doesn’t have a light fixture/covering—just an uncovered light bulb with a pull string; that’s just not classy. 5) The beds do not seem to be queen beds—as advertised. I didn’t have anything to measure the dimensions; however, my wife and I regularly sleep in a queen bed without issue. The beds in the house were smaller than a queen—a full most likely; that’s a little deceiving (and uncomfortable). 6) Ants visited and covered some of our food. The first morning there we woke up to our muffins (which were unopened and in the plastic container all night) that was sat on the counter near the sink covered in ants (discovered after my young daughter had taken a bite out of the muffin). That’s no bueno! Additionally, we found that one of bags (that contained some liquid cough med and fruit) that also was placed on the counter was covered in ants. 7) I can’t really hold this against the owners, but I want to mention it—my car was struck and slightly damaged by a pretty big/heavy branch that fell from the LARGE tree in the driveway (which one seemingly must park under) during a storm the first night.
Additionally, I think the pre-trip communication could be improved upon, but I've reached the word cap so I can't really expand upon this point.
