"Es war ein wunderbarer, ruhiger und entschleunigender Aufenthalt direkt am Waldrand über Silvester mit meinem Hund. Es gab ein paar vereinzelte Böller im Laufe des Silvesterabends. Um Mitternacht war ein wenig mehr los, was aber nach etwa 30 bis 45 Minuten vorbei war. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtetund mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Ein weiteres Highlight für mich war der Kamin und natürlich der phänomenale Ausblick vom Balkon. "

"We spent Xmas and New Years at the cabin. We had a wonderful time. This is an ideal place to completely unwind and relax. The forest is 2 minutes away. We were lucky we had snow, and we took winter walks in the forest. The cabin is cozy and had lots lots of character. Thre are fantastic views of the forest from the upstairs balcony. The balcony was also ideal to see in all the New Year's Eve fireworks. Udo and his family were very welcoming. Thank you we had a fantastic time at the cabin."

"Wir haben einen Abenteuerurlaub gesucht, wir haben einen Abenteuerurlaub gefunden. Wir sind zu dritt(Kind 12) mit Hund angereist.Das ist genau das richtige für Leute die einfach mal dem grauen Alltag entfliehen wollen. Das wir im Haus keinen Wasseranschluss hatten, hat uns garnicht gestört, da wir die meiste Zeit draussen verbracht haben. Es ist alles mit Liebe eingerichtet und es ist alles vorhanden was man so braucht. Riesen pluspunkt an die Fliegengitter die überall im Haus angebracht sind,...

"Das Chalet ist schön aufgeteilt, Ess-, Wohn- und Schlafbereich. Die Einrichtung ist auf alt-romantisch getrimmt jedoch mit neuen Möbeln versehen. Alles hat einwandfrei funktioniert und war sauber. Jedoch das Internet könnte ein kleines Upgrade vertragen. Einziges Manko ist die Lage an der Hauptstraße. Diese ist etwas laut bei geöffneten Fenstern, besonders an Wochentagen. Der Vermieter war auskunftsfreudig, hilfsbereit und wollte das man sich wohl fühlt."

Die Aussicht ins Tal ist sehr schön. Leider gab es einige Defekte im Haus. In zwei Zimmern waren die Fensterscheiben beschädigt, so das man die Fenster nur mit Vorsicht öffnen konnte. "Very nice hotel near the main street. The restaurant was very good with traditional Thuringian food. It looks like the restaurant is used by locals too. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options available. The room was functional and the bathroom seemed newly renovated. The hotel had a sauna, but I didn’t use it."

Schloss Weissenburg - misleading pictures

"I chose this hotel due to its idyllic look & since I was traveling with 4 colleagues, they all booked here too. On arrival, found out you don’t stay in the schloss, rather a very unattractive side building, freezing cold, tiny room. The restaurant was closed, another reason I had chosen this hotel was because it had a restaurant, nobody told us it would be closed. Very poor. The service was friendly at breakfast & that’s my reason for ranking this at okay. The lady was lovely & made our start to each day a pleasant one ."
