"A truly relaxing property. Huge, beautiful gardens provided the most serene setting for sitting out under the olive trees. A large pool where you could really get your laps in and lemon and lime trees with an abundance of fruit to pick. The house was very traditional. Lots of space and a very quirky ground floor. "Emily’s Apartment, was perfect for our seven day stay in Viana do Castelo. Luisa and José met us upon our arrival and directed to our parking space. They also aquatinted us to the apartment. The bottle of wine and chocolates were much appreciated. The apartment is very clean and well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. "The house is just minutes from the beach. Even in early August the beach is not crowded. Water temperatures were around 16 C. The beach gets windy in the afternoon when kite surfers start. There are life guards which adds extra safety. The little town is cute with restaurants, beach cafes and a little grocery store. A train to Porto runs a few times a day. The house itself has some charming aspects such as the ocean view and the hardwood floor. The kitchen has a lot of useful things....

"My stay at this place was great, very quiet place, big property with small vineyards and a great swimming pool. Mr Ernesto was great and flexible with the check in and out (5stars to that) Nice couple of rooms for a couple each, kitchen is full equipped but oven (has a wooden oven outside) The only thing that I can mention is a lack of a full indoor living room which the bit outside is great for it any time of the day if good weather... if not is also ok and you always can burn some wood/coal...

"Overall 5 stars but I do want to give a few pointers… if you get there after dark know that the parking will be before you reach the actual hotel building. It’s dark so it will be a little challenging for you to recognize. Once you find the parking it will be super easy. Make sure you get the gate code, room number, and all the check in instructions after you book the reservation because this hotel is self contained which means there will not be a person checking you in. The whole hotel seems brand new. Very clean. Bedroom and bathroom is very small but enough for a short stay. Bed is very comfortable and breakfast has everything you need for a good start of your day! I would recommend this place and would stay there again for sure! "

"Easy hotel to locate and park. A very warm welcome from the host with all procedures well explained. This hotel has an elevator to take bags up to rooms. Rooms are compact but comfortable and clean. Bathroom is a good size and works well. We slept very well and ate a lovely continental breakfast each morning with espresso coffees. We certainly enjoyed our stay and are considering a return stay. Excellent value for your Euro and a worthwhile stay. Thank you Robert. "

"I stayed in this fabulous chocolate hotel in early October when I was walking on the Camino way. After a 10 mile day of walking, it was wonderful to get there and berated with a wine spritzer with chocolate shavings, delicious chocolate bar, and a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was included and was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend this place. "
