Tamukami is the quintessential rustic Balinese hotel. The position is perfect set down a quiet driveway away from busy Tamblingan Street that seems to pump non stop, and right opposite the new Icon shopping mall which takes you right through to the beautiful beach path Sanur is famous for. Our room was huge and clean with firm bed and large walk in shower as well as a large bathtub. Our room only rate was AU$80 which seemed a little steep to me but it was nice to have that old style Balinese hotel feeling for a night. Who knows how much longer these classic old beauties will be around for. Sanur seems to be reinventing itself at an alarming rate.

Breakfast had a limited selection. Owner Decided to collect frogs from the pool area in a plastic bag. Not a good idea to do that in front of guests. The property was charming and quiet. It was ideally situated for bars, restaurants and the beach. It was two minutes from the new shopping mall.

The location of this hotel is great. Restaurant is simple but lots of tasty spots within walking distance. Rooms are fairly dated and wasn’t as clean as I hoped. I was trying to get a geko outside and moved furniture. That was a wrong choice. The staff is lovely and grounds are tranquil.

This is a gem of a place in Bali. The property is quiet even being so close to the main road and I love the vintage feel. Housekeeping was regular and the pool was fabulous. Do note you may see a gecko or two in the room since the windows have large gaps and mosquitoes were around, but the space and location can't be beat.

Pool was nice but wouldn’t stay again. Bed was stiff but that seems pretty standard for Bali. The room had a sewage smell. They had several air fresheners in the bathroom to try and count the scent but it didn’t help much. A ceramic tile from the roof in the middle of the night which was pretty startling.

The hotel is a charming reminder of what reasonably priced boutique hotels can and should be like. The location is great but what impressed me the most was the professional yet friendly attention by the hotel staff. I will return this hotel at every time I’m in need of a stress free visit. This was one of the most beautiful and will run hotels I have stayed at in Southeast Asia. The pool and courtyard are the centerpiece. The location is great and still quiet.

Beautiful outside the room...
It was not for a lack of trying on the staffs part but they never stood a chance. The hotel is out dated and poorly maintained. The small AC units can not keep up as the rooms are large and have many air gaps. The internet/wifi might as well not exist. The bathrooms are gross with stains all over and the hardware is covered in hard water crusties and green residue... There was also no safes in the room as stated on hotels.com. The staff gave me an upgraded room that was a bit better for the AC and the bathroom but still not great. They gave me a fan and power adapter as well to use during my stay. Again the staff rocks but maybe someone should manage the maintenance crews better?

We had a great time staying here. Our previous hotel was very dated and dirty so we left and reserved this quaint boutique hotel. It has a beautifully kept pool. If you are looking for new then you may be disappointed as the rooms are dated and the electrical is older. The breakfast is just okay. This being said...we rented bikes from the hotel, enjoyed swimming in the pool and found the location to be very handy. All in all good value for a 3.5 star hotel that we would go back to again.

Delightful and quiet small hotel (19 rooms) in a good location - close to the beach if you choose to walk through one of the nearby beachfront properties. Beautiful pool surrounded by lovely stonework and lush garden. Suite 2 was simple, spacious and comfortable, only steps from the pool. Air con excellent. Bathroom clean and functional but a bit dated. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special.
