"We were welcomed by friendly staff in a beautiful medieval house. The restaurant and breakfast room are located in this ‘castle.’ The rooms are located across the street in a new-fangled room complex. The rooms are modern and functionally furnished. Unfortunately, there was a lack of maintenance of the rooms; the shower floor and chairs are damaged. All this should not spoil the fun, but that is not what you expect from a (Fletcher) hotel. "There are not so many hotels in this small town of Coevorden. This one is splendid. What makes it so special is the staff. They are the kindest and most helpful people I’ve ever met. The hotel is fairly basic but kept up very very well. I’ll stay here again."

"Lovely Dutch pastoral setting where the hosts make you feel very welcome, and go out of their way to help you. We can honestly say that this was one of the best B and Bs at which we have ever stayed. "

"The room was clean and efficient, loved the heated bathroom floors The church bells tolling in the morning were delightful. The staff was busy but always made time to answer questions with a smile. The restaurant was very very good and the breakfast was a delightful private table with a generous variety of bread, rolls, fruits, yogurts, eggs and meats. "Very basic stay - except for a soap bar no shampoo, shower gel or other basic toiletries. Room to the street noisy. Most TV channels did not work. Not a very good value for money compared to the hotel down the street. Plus is the convenient check in with a door code."

"Our family of 7 enjoyed our vacation over Christmas at this property. The owners were wonderfully kind to communicate with, rent from, and decorated for the holiday so my daughters would feel welcome. The space is wonderful for a large family or perhaps for 2-3 smaller groups. I would definitely rent again. I would highly recommend in the spring and summer as I’m sure the garden is amazingly beautiful—it was even enjoyable in December. Thank you again, Barkeys!"
