"This hotel is a fantastic base for a visit to the wine region. The hotel is a short drive from Franschhoek with the hotel providing an excellent shuttle bus service. The staff could not be any more friendly or obliging if they tried and we really felt at home here. The only gripe is that the pool beds are not that comfortable but otherwise this a hotel I would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again."

"This is in the top 3 of the best value for money accommodation we've ever stayed in! Why? The location, the welcome, the room, the SUPERB breakfast, the local knowledge and advice, the electric bikes we hired. And in particular the way hosts Stefan and Nikki interacted with us and the other guests, somehow bringing us all together which enhanced the stay even more.We made some great contacts with people who had stayed at Penguino previously .... which speaks volumes in itself. Hermanus is a lovely, chilled-out place and when we go back we will be staying here again."

"Our room was beautiful with a spectacular view. The staff could not be more helpful. The shuttle bus was a bonus that we didn’t expect. The food was delicious. The only minor downside was the colour (grey) and size of the pool - although it was always spotlessly clean it appeared a bit murky. However, it wasn’t - it was just that it was painted grey. "

"Faultless, absolutely faultless. From the friendliest reception check in, to the wine tasting and lunch we had whilst waiting for our room. From contacting the reception team about a buggy up to the golf club house for dinner. Every aspect is covered. The location speaks for itself, in a tranquil valley, we had 48 hours of bliss. The food in the Kleine Zalze restaurant is some of the finest I’ve ever eaten in South Africa. Thank you for making our stay so lovely. "

"Our stay at Whale Coast Ocean Villa was fabulous! This is the perfect place for exploring the Hermanus Cliff Walk and Grotto Beach. It is beautifully decorated, the breakfast was amazing, the staff warm and welcoming. Our stay was too short. Hope to visit again soon."
